De La Rosa's album new release date

Immergent Records will be releasing De la Rosa’s debut album, as the hopeful singer is managed by her ex-fiance and former Real Housewives of Orange County costar Slade Smiley.

She has made her finished singles available for listening through her official MySpace profile. Titles include “U Can’t Control Me,” “Letting Go” and “Look But Don’t Touch.”

According to Immergent, De La Rosa’s debut CD will be released on July 24.

Q: Some of the bloggers say some pretty bad things about you. What do you think of them and their comments?

A: Most comments have been positive and enjoyable, but in regards to the few negative bloggers, I have come to learn that insecure and miserable people full of hate say hurtful and hateful things.

The majority of the negative comments about George and me came from people that were once in our lives. These people launched a horrendous attack on us with the sole purpose of spreading hatred and harming our relationship with their vicious and slanderous lies. These people hide behind multiple Internet personas from the safety of their keyboards. Anonymity is important and key, because often their actions are criminal.

Fortunately for us, the cyber-stalking laws are finally catching up with the technology of the Internet, and the FBI recognizes these types of crimes and is taking them very seriously. I often wonder how miserable, lonely, unhappy and dissatisfied these type of bloggers must be with their lives if cowardly attacking someone by hiding behind anonymity is what they choose to do with their time. It is a very immature, child-like behavior and reminds me of junior high!

I am happy and living a very full and wonderful life, so it is impossible for me to relate

Where do we start? Lauri may need to use George's attorneys for a legal 101 education session. There is no slander when you are on film saying the things you say, your children's writings on their own myspace pages and the easy to find Orange County public records. The fact that real mothers cannot believe how selfish you are is a direct result of your own actions. The fact that you are so enamored with your 15 minutes of fame instead of parenting your troubled children is your problem. You chose to parade your brood on national TV and claim to be something you aren't. There is no slander here or cyber stalking. You are simply trying to persuade us all that you live a Brady Bunch life which is so obviously not even close to your life. The kids on the Brady Bunch actually live with their parents. You have relegated Josh and Ashley to the condo and now McKenzie's myspace page says she is there as well. So your own actions speak loud and clear as to the parent you are. Look in the mirror if you aren't happy with what is being written about you.

WOW - such blatant lies and the girls definitely had their claws out tonight! Did the rest of you think they were all looking a bit haggard tonight? All except Tamra (lose the bangs) Barney, she looked great. Vicki and Jeanna looked tired. Tammy looked a lot older and very vulnerable. You just want to give her a hug. Lauri - OMG - she is starting to look like that cat lady that has had too many procedures. Love how she now talks really slow like she is a regal b***ch with a stick up her a**.

Lauri -
Over botoxed, stone faced Lauri said again that Ashley wrote the speech herself and worked on it for 3 weeks. Ashley did NOT write the speech. See our previous post where it shows she took a large portion of her speech from an online website.

Lauri -
Seriously says Josh is doing great as he is a waiter and bought his own Audi. Andy couldn't let that one go. So he said how. Then she says well I did help him. No shit sherlock! A waiter cannot buy an Audi. Her Faux Brady Bunch lifestyle is still running rampant.

Lauri -
Dug a deeper hole as she said Sophie will disappoint her as well. She said Ashley didn't talk to her for awhile so she thinks she was mad. Of course she doesn't mention how Josh took it. Always forgetting that one.

Lauri -
Calling George's ex-wife, Mackenzie's mother, Mexican. Most refined, wealthy people would say Hispanic or Spanish. She gets her digs in every way she can.

Bravo on Vicki -
Vicki kept saying her team in Seattle, Idaho etc. But Andy insisted she had expanded her business and opened offices there. She did not. She is an independent insurance agent with agents working under her. Seattle and Idaho are her broker's offices that they use. Blame this one on Bravo.

Jeana -
(Okay I know you all voted for her as your favorite BUT she is very bitchy and gets her digs in.)
When Andy said is anyone going to pose for Playboy and Tamra said she had received emails about it. Jeana pipes in and says umm, unless Playboy has changed their rules these ladies are all too old!! God forbid someone one up Jeana with Playboy.

Jeana -
Sales 101 says you treat your clients as they wish to be treated. If you have an anal client you don't treat them laid back like you are. Frankie, the email 'new' friend, shouldn't have been dropped on Vicki, the anal queen, without warning. Jeanna is wrong here.

Vicki -
Jeanna claiming Vicki is Hitler with her kids then Vicki says I care about where my kids are, unlike you!!

Lauri -
Asked Tamra if she had been an exotic dancer. Wow - jealous of the little hot blondie. Just like when she asked about the watch if Simon bought it in Mexico.

Vicki -
WOOHOO - "I didn't know I did it that much". Come on - she knew damn well what she does when she drinks but it was truly embarrassing so we'll see if she tones it down next season.

Tamra -
Telling Quinn she is a closet nasty girl. Priceless - love Tamra.

UPDATES -

Lauri's wedding - was between $300K - $500K EXCEPT she forgot to talk about the items she received for free or were borrowed.

Season 4 - All the girls say they are up for a Season Four.

Vicki - Admitted her and Donn are not doing that well. Donn told her she needs to spend more time with him and she doesn't know if she can do that since her insurance brokerage is taking off. Pretty sad - seems like a lot of regrets there. At the end of the show she said she is wrong and needs to find time for Donn.

Quinn's boobage is fake. Yes the big kahungas are fake she admitted. Hmm... have to leave that one as it is.

Lauri moved Ashley out of George's and put Josh in the condo with her.

Lauri - Believes the Botox and Restlyn have taken years off of her face. She says "Who hasn't had it done>" Please - get over yourself you do not look younger you like a stone statue.

Tamra - Basically apologized for coming across like Ryan's father wasn't a part of his life. What she meant, she now says, is that they were young and didn't know what they were doing. Kudos for her to take back what she said as Ryan's dad has been quoted as being terribly disappointed by her comments.

Jo's - Album is dropping in March and she claims her Bravo pilot is still going to air.

Lauri - No honeymoon yet. She says well, the place we wanted to go to had a monsoon so we'll go somewhere soon. Then she says Season Four. So pathetic - she pushed the wedding to make sure it was videotaped. Now she will push her honeymoon to make sure it is on the next season.

Frankie - Vicki and Jeanna confirmed he emailed them saying he was a fan and wanted to fix Jeana's home so she let him fly down and live in Vicki's house. That's kinda scary.

Gay following - According to Andy they have a large gay following. hmmm... wonder why that is.

Jo - Says she has moved on from Slade and is dating. Says Slade is also dating but will always be her friend.

"The Real Housewives of Orange County" will be returning for a third season, Bravo announced today. That is, all the cast members but two: Slade Smiley and Jo De La Rosa (pictured). The off-again, on-again couple are in negotiations with the network for their own spinoff project, the pair said in phone calls.

While Vicki Gunvalson, Jeana Keough, Tammy Knickerbocker, Lauri Waring and new housewife Tamra Barney will all be showing off their real-life dramas "behind the gates," Smiley and De La Rosa are focusing on her music career in Los Angeles.

"It's kind of like Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey when they were newlyweds," De La Rosa said. (baahaaaaaaaaaaa)

Welcome everyone! Are you surprised to see me here tonight? Our good friend, SueEllen, was called to perform her civic duty this week and that left me to recap this week’s wedding of the century. Now if you’re wondering what civic duty SueEllen is performing, look no further than the Celebrity Apprentice thread where she is manning the helm and taking that show home. Last week, the housewives dressed like skanks, acted like hoes, and someone turned 40. It was fun, it was sad, it made me happy that I don’t have implants and that my tattoo is not located in the “tramp stamp” region. Since you can probably all barely contain yourselves, let’s get gussied up in our finest duds and prepare ourselves for the glorious event that is going to happen tonight…or you can do like me and put on some sweat pants and drink malt liquor from a brown bag and hope that the night goes quickly.

Psycho Psychosis
To kick the show off we have Quinn getting ready for a night out with the man who clearly hates her but probably is getting some so he’s not ready to dump her just yet. Quinn wants to lighten the mood tonight so she seems to be putting on an extraordinary amount of make-up and suiting up in a dress that is not low cut. She shows up at the Casino to greet Billy with a blonde wig and the new name of Roxie. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS! I seriously screamed that at my TV. Quinn is so clueless and odd that it is at the point of making me uncomfortable…combine that with the shirt she’s wearing for the interview portion and the fact that her sagging breasts are about ready to pop out of her shirt like a demon alien baby, I can barely look at the screen right now.

Come to find out that Roxie is a bit of a bitch and little on the wild side. Billy seems to enjoy this little charade proving that he is an idiot. Quinn tells us that she needs to be in a marriage so she can let this wild side out more often. I’m still scratching my head over her reasoning.

Lauri, Josh, and the doctor from Celebrity Fit Club are all gathering to make Josh feel like crap in hopes that he shapes up so he doesn’t embarrass his mother at her 1st err 2nd err 3rd wedding. Josh seems really uncomfortable in this situation and I just feel horrible for him. Who wants to be confronted about their problems in front of a television camera? Lauri tells us that Josh needs to change his ways before he can be let back into the family. This is the most horrible thing I have ever heard. When someone needs help from drug or alcohol abuse they need their family the most. He needs to be checked into a good rehab center and have support from his family in the hope that he will decide to change his ways. He is obviously seeking attention and trying to get love. This is a horrible situation and I’m not going to say anymore on it.

Tranny Prep-Work
It’s wedding day and Lauri has hired a whole slew of people to help her look more like a man than she normally does. She has brought in a whole group of make-up and hair artists to do up the whole wedding party. As they are getting ready, Lauri tries to get a hold of Josh and is having a hard time reaching him. No one knows if he is going to show and Ashley hopes that he doesn’t because she doesn’t want to watch her brother when she could be getting drunk and acting like a fool.

Lauri and George sit and go over last minute details with the wedding planner. They want to make sure that everything is in place and this is the most wonderful moments of their lives. I really hope my third wedding is as wondrous as this event. I hope my first and second are pretty good too but not as good as the third one. That’s the one that counts! Ashley is working on her speech that she is going to give and I really hope the Bravo producers added pictures to her note cards so she can read it smoothly.

Lauri mentions that she has not let her dress out of the bag and that it might be wrinkled. She mentions that she’s not a professional bride and doesn’t know what she’s supposed to do. Umm, three marriages makes you more than a novice. Lauri heads upstairs to let the dress out and George heads over to meet up with his boys and get ready for the wedding. Lauri’s sister, Linda has joined the party and is going to be the matron of honor for the event. Linda seems disgusted with the happenings or maybe she seems disturbed that her sister looks more like a brother now.

Quinn and Billy are still in Vegas, probably mourning the fact they don’t get to attend the wedding of the century. Quinn keeps blabbering on about whether she should stay with Billy or let him go. Hello, he’s just not that into you! She keeps telling him what she wants, he clearly isn’t any of them, yet she just won’t let him go. She should crash the wedding, pick up some loser at the wedding, and call it a day. I have solved her problem for her and she gets more air time so it’s wins all around.

By the Power of Grey-Skull…She-Man!
It’s time for Lauri to get dressed and I can’t wait to see if she looks at all like a female in the dress. Lauri slips into her dress, crams her giant feet into small shoes, and is ready for the big event. It’s time for the fairy-tale to happen and time for me to go to the bathroom and barf. I don’t really care for Lauri’s dress, it has a really low waist and that is just not appealing to me. All the ladies show up and the outside is beautiful for the event. Flowers and crystals are hanging all over. Josh made it to the wedding and things should get interesting.

The bridesmaids come down the aisle and I really like the green color of their dresses. Lauri comes down the aisle and that make-up artist deserves the award of the year. He has managed to make her resemble a woman and actually look nice. The event is quite extravagant and outrageous and most people would never do this for a third wedding. As they are standing at the front I start to giggle because George totally has a mullet. How is this happening, mullets are not part of fairytales. They say their vows, they kiss, and I gauge my eyes out.

Its reception time and we get a nice montage of the wedding photos. We also get lots of extra shots of Lauri and George kissing and I just want to fast forward but I will tough it out for you, the readers. The dining tent is beautiful and they did a good job making it look very elegant. It’s time for Ashley to be in the spotlight. She gets up to give her toast and first thanks her mother for asking her to be her maid of honor. I thought it was the other way around. Ashley’s toast is actually very nice and that for sure guarantees some lackey at Bravo was commissioned to write it for her. The reception goes on and it’s nothing like any fairytale I have ever seen or heard.

The Final Hoorah…Thankfully Minus the Singing
Jeana is having a cocktail party for her friends and family. Everyone shows up and it looks like she has a fresh sushi bar for the guests to enjoy. I wonder how I get invited to Jeana’s parties, I do love sushi. Cocktails are flowing and Vicki tells us her favorite cocktail is a bleu cheese stuffed olive dirty martini. I always thought it was Man Juice, I have been misled. Vicki gets to drinking and talking with Quinn and Quinn tells the gals that she broke up with Billy. WHAT? She seriously finally got a clue and ditched that loser like a bad habit?

Vicki gets another drink and talks with Lauri about her new life. Tamra finally shows up and we know that things are going to get wild now. Lauri and George show off their wedding rings and George’s seriously looks like something you get when you win the super bowl. How can he stand to wear that around all the time? I would be afraid someone would jump me and steal that thing, allowing them to pay off their mortgage, send their kids to school, and buy a barrel of man juice.

Donn finally makes an appearance reliving my worries that he was tied up in their home and being tortured by tapes of Vicki screeching “We’re going to Mexico.” Vicki tells the ladies she’s going to Paris and Jeana and Quinn both jump on that and say they will take care of Donn in her absence. Donn is probably so happy because he will actually be able to remove the ear plugs from his ears and not wear his padded vest.

Finally, the most anticipated moment of the show, Jo rolls up to the party. She looks the same and seems a little less annoying. Everyone asks her what she is doing and she tells them she’s finishing her album and getting ready to tour. Most of them seem shocked, it’s like they had no idea she was even pursuing a music career. Most of them must have missed that episode last season with her wretched singing that we had to suffer through.

As the party is winding down, Vicki is three sheets to the wind, and she and Tamra start groping each other. Exciting to 15 year old boys but disgusting to everyone else around. Tammy shows up to the party with her family and Vicki immediately gets to groping and mildly abusing them. Jo starts talking more about her career and Brianna wonders if she is opening for the opener of the opener at the show. Donn muses that maybe she’s just parking cars. I knew I always like these two.

Where Are They Now?
Lauri and George are married and Lauri has discovered one flaw in her husband…he has a serious mullet snores. Ashley hasn’t taken the Real Estate exam yet but is working with George. McKenzie is attending Community College and still has her tattoo. Does anyone even care about these two? Josh has a job as a waiter and is attending community college where I am sure he is disappointing his mother daily.

Tamra is going to take life more seriously now that she’s 40. Wait, when did she turn 40? After her surgery, she is still claiming to be the hottest housewife in the OC. Ryan is still working at Simon’s place of business but has moved out and is living with his grandmother. Still a winner in my book.

Vicki is ready to make a big impact in her insurance career and she and Donn have had a tough year. She evicted Frankie and now a nice elderly couple is living in her house. This is probably good because they are probably hard of hearing and whenever she comes over and screeches at them it’s probably like normal voices to them. Briana and Colby went to Washington and Michael is hoping to get his insurance license.

Over at Jeana’s, at lot has happened this past year to her and she’s looking forward to moving on. The real estate score between Jeana and Tamra for 2008 is: 3 to 0, Jeana. Kara is at Berkley and has a new boyfriend that is a baseball player. Colton is still being bratty and Jeana is giving him a bus pass instead of a car because of it. She rules! Shane got traded and is now playing for a County team in Illinois. I don’t know anything about baseball but it seems like he’s at the bottom of the barrel.

Quinn is still looking for a husband and being more desperate than ever. She is not with Billy and she and Jared are just friends. Roxie is still out there so men beware!

Tammy is just growing and has moved back into her home in Coto. Megan is still into tattoos and working at a termite company. Lindsey is still with the OC Energy drink girls and has decided to go into fashion design.

The Claws Come Out

Tammy's Upbringing

I thought that I would back it up a bit so that you could get a better understanding of my thought process and where or why this story is leading…
I was born in East LA at the White Memorial Hospital and spent most of my early childhood there.
My mother is Spanish/Mexican (debatable) and my father is German. I grew up in a religious environment (Catholic). My mom worked full time as a waitress in a club that had “Taxi Dancers” to support us. Taxi Dancers are a thing of the past (I think)- girls that get paid just to dance with guys. My dad was rarely around. My sister has a different father who would always come to pick her up for the weekends; I remember feeling rejected as a child that my dad did not come to get me. We stayed at my Grandma’s house most weekends (in LA on Druid Street).
I remember living in a small cute house in Canoga Park for a while. My mom being a single mother with three kids had to work all the time to take care of us.
Sadie, our babysitter, lived next door. She basically raised us. There were so many great memories growing up. It’s weird how when you’re young you really don’t understand the stress or money issues – just live the moment.
There are so many fun memories with Sadie, like sleeping in sleeping bags on her floor and waking up to her spraying Lysol on us every morning because my sister would pee in her sleeping bag. She taught us how to roller-skate and Christmas she would wrap three store bought balls under the tree. It’s weird how that smell stays with you and never goes away. We cared very much for her, but lost touch with her many years ago.
Eventually we moved into an apartment in Sherman Oaks. We were really bad kids then!! My mom worked nights, my sister watched us and we were out of control. One time my mom came home and saw dog prints on the wall. When she asked what happened, we answered and said, “I don’t know, we didn’t do it”. She was puzzled. But the answer is that we did know. We would shine a flashlight on the wall and the dog would go nuts running up the wall for hours. Another time we had a water fight with the workers at the gas station. We brought the hose through the window and soaked them. They were so mad, but it was fun. We loved to play volleyball in the apartment (which was very small). We’d move all the furniture and put up a net inside the house. We’d break things and call my mom at work to tell her so that when she got home the punishment wouldn’t be so bad.
The big earthquake in the 70’s hit, we were terrified and screaming. It was so scary. My brother and I had bunk beds and we got trapped in our room. The stairs outside fell down and we had to get help to get out, it was a mess. Luckily we only lived there for 9 months. We were very poor at the time. I remember my mom being embarrassed to use our food stamps. It didn’t bother me but I know she cared. She worked very hard and tried to provide for us and I love her for that. We used to get hand me downs from my older cousin all the time.
We moved a lot while I was young. Our place in Sherman Oaks had glass entry doors, but they were so heavy that I couldn’t open them. So I’d have to sit on the steps until someone came to open the doors. I think about that now, how scary it would be for me to leave my child outside like that, I guess times are just different now.
My mom had a home mate and one night I woke up to people yelling, this lady took all of my mom’s furniture and pictures out in the middle of the night. My mom was devastated, the little we had was now gone. Our family helped out, but it was a sad time for my mom.
My mom eventually got married and we moved into a house in Canoga Park. It was so cute complete with a well in the front yard and a play house in the back. We were happy, in the beginning. The problem was that my mom worked every night and her husband didn’t, so he was a build in babysitter. They eventually divorced and we moved again.
Meet our Canoga Park house on Soup Avenue. Sparkling pool and another marriage for my mom, again! I started 5th grade with lots of friends. Shopping at Topanga Mall and going ice skating occupied my days. My mom was happy watching me ice skate and I was happy for my mom that she finally met someone; she didn’t have to work 24/7. But as we all have heard, good things always comes to an end- and she divorced, again.
Then came my life in the OC. We moved to Garden Grove and I went to school at Bell Junior High, then Pacifica High School. I loved it. Orange County was so different from the Valley. The boys were cuter; they dressed nicer and seemed smarter.
My brother played baseball and now enters husband number….5. They are still together and make a great couple. It’s been over 20 years and I believe they are soul mates. He had 2 boys and my mom had us 3 and it was hard to combine families.
My mom was very strict with me. Forbidden to talk to boys or date. Well, at 15 I had a boyfriend (and he was 19). He was cute, fun and loved me a lot. We dated for 2 years. Then I went for the opposite of him and dated a crazy guy who my parents hated. They wanted me away from him and tried everything they cold think of to keep me away from him.

When the press release for a Newport Beach bachelor auction came across our desks, we were all over that shit. And when we heard there was going to be an open bar? The deal got even sweeter.

You would think that a room full of eligible men, free flowing alcohol and some B-list reality TV stars would make for a fun evening.

It didn’t.

Right off the bat, we knew it wasn’t going to go well when the first bachelor “Duff” only fetched $125. Most bachelor auctions benefit causes worth spending money on, like fighting AIDS or housing orphans with Tuberculosis. This auction was raising money for the benevolent cause of. . . beauty pageants. Specifically the Miss Teen Newport Fucking Beach Pageant. Talk about funding the epitome of all things wrong with this world. The Haves giving to the Have-Mores.

Everyone in this clusterfuck of silicone and spray tan seemed to agree because no one would bid on these poor bastards. They even had to lower the price on a few of ‘em. Not even the open bar could save them (but it did ease our pain a little bit).

The “celebrities” included a couple of the Real Housewives and those guys from that show about tanning. Real Housewife Quinn had to buy her own 26-year old boyfriend because no one would bid on him. How embarrassing.

Then came the Sunset Tan boys, glowing Caltrans orange like a giant caution sign. No one wanted them either, so their prices had to be dropped like a K-Mart blue light special.

We couldn’t help but wonder why, in a room full of millionaires, no one was willing to fork over the dough so Miss Teen Newport Beach could get some new hair extensions.

Eh, must be the economy.

And I think that when you open up and expose those types of things, I think you draw people in because they’ve got those problems too and they want to know how is he handling it, how is he facing it. And I think everyone, even from my blog comments, what I’ve gotten is that everyone is concerned about Josh. Everyone wants to see him succeed. Everyone wants the best for him, and he’s cute! Add your comments, [Josh], I’m sure you have more, but that’s just how I see it.

Josh: Like you said, I try to be a nice person. I try to treat people, definitely not in my past, but …. I think people see that I’m not happy being a screw-up. I’m not accepting of it like most people are. I’m not a scumbag. I see the mistakes that I’m making and even though I make them over and over, I go, “Why, why am I doing this?” So, I think people know that there’s hope and people, they all have the optimism that I do, and that they feel in me, and they just keep checking in.

Lauri: And you don’t know how many blog comments I’ve gotten from viewers that have said my son went through the same types of things at Josh’s age and just to let you know, he turned out to be this wonderful man, has a beautiful family and has a successful career. So, just to let you know everybody goes through really dark times in their lives, and that nine times out of 10 they end up happy. And so I think, again, I think viewers are concerned with … Josh’s success.

Bravotv.com: We saw last week just the beginning of Josh coming over to George’s house and the therapist appearing. How did that all come about and what was your first reaction when your mom suggested doing that?

Josh: Well, it was my mom asking me. She told me; she asked me, you know, well, it’s long …. Well, my mom had contacted me, and she told me that … I had let her know that I was interested in going to the wedding. I know that if I had not gone …. I know that this is all temporary. This is really stupid to think that the drama that occurs in my life when I’m 18 is going to affect me for the rest of my life. Whereas a lot of things will, family drama … I definitely don’t think will be one of those things. I hope that anyone who is fighting with their parents at 18 can resolve all their differences.

Lauri: I think what he’s saying is that through everything that we were going through to have him not be a part of the wedding, both of us would regret it for the rest of our lives.

Josh: … I know that my mom really does love George and he’s a good guy for her, and I’m not going to challenge that like I have in my past. One day it comes to you, “When are you going to be accepting? When are you going to be accepting of her life. When are you going to just grow up and let her live her life and you attempt as much as you can to live yours.”

Lauri: And the whole Stacie thing … as far as how did that all occur. Josh and I, we’ve been going through therapy since Josh was about six. I mean just with ADD …. We’ve had ongoing and just try to help us with situations over time. He’s not new to the therapy, and I think that’s good and that’s bad. So when I told him basically, really in order for me to bring him back into the family as far as after all the drama had occurred, I needed clean. I needed him clean and sober. That was hugely important for me. With Josh, when he’s clean is an entirely different person. He’s wonderful; he’s charming; he’s always the center of attention because he’s intelligent; adults like to talk to him. And I just felt it was really important to bring, knowing that I was going to have Josh here, I needed a mediator. And part of that reason is that, when you have your own child there, you just want to believe everything that they say. You must have a third person in there calling both sides out on something that they might not see, as the way it really is. So I just thought that it was good for Stacie to be there and to see the dynamic, and just really help Josh get on the right track, and help set goals, and figure out a future.

Josh: My first reaction was that only I can change my life -- no one can do it for me. Of course I have to take initiative, and I have to be the one that steps up, and a mediator is a mediator, then that can be beneficial, but I didn’t want someone going in there and saying, “Josh, you need to do this; you need to feel like this.” I don’t know if you caught how I act and how I am to authority, but ….

Bravotv.com: Like any teenager?

Josh: Yeah – never really been good at that. I told her, “I’ll give it a shot and we’ll see how things go.” And I think it went successfully. I’m sure there will be a lot more than they show, like there always is ….

Lauri: … I think the producers are very aware of how important it is to tell Josh’s story. It’s real and to the point and just because again a lot of families are facing these types of situations. And I think they’re interested in seeing how we deal with it. At least he showed up.

Bravotv.com: Do you still work with Stacie?

Lauri: No, no. That was just a one-time thing. She lives all the way up in LA. I wish Stacie lived with us.

Bravotv.com: I’m sure she wouldn’t mind if you offered

Bravotv.com: So, Josh, before your mother reached out to you, did you reach out to your mother at all saying you wanted to be involved in the wedding?

Josh: Yeah. For a big part, it was my girlfriend at the time. She was kind of the one that went, “You can’t live without your mom. Family is everything.” She really was the one that pushed it on me to bandage the hardship that happened in the relationship. She was the one who told me, “You’re not going to ever be successful. You’re never going to be happy unless you take that step. And it’s not much to ask.” She said, “I’m sure you’ll thank me in the end. And I’m sure when you’re successful and you have a successful relationship with your mom, you’ll be so happy that you did it.” And I was like, “But you don’t understand! You don’t understand!” She started throwing out quotes on forgiveness. I swear [she was like a] fortune cookie. She pushed that on me, and she said hopefully my mom could forgive me, and after that it would be peaches and cream …. I was like, “You don’t understand” because I have to resent everything. I made the call, and I was like “Mom, I’d like to go to your wedding.” … And you know I was happy because she said the same thing. I was expecting the but …. “But you should probably meet the therapist.” Always therapist. Counselor and the therapist ….

Lauri: You know I have to say, right here, I think is a good time that for some reason everyone thinks that Josh and I weren’t communicating with each other. Even when I did have to kick Josh out of the house for a time, we were still talking to each other a lot. And we never ever really stopped talking. I was angry at Josh for things that he said that weren’t true. I was mad at how he reacted. He was probably mad at me when I kicked him out of the house. Josh knows we had a contract that we built with the psychologist that if any of the rules had been broken then this is what had to have happen. It was tough love, which was harder on me than on anybody. But at the time when Josh was out of my house, his behavior was unpredictable and he knows that, especially at the time of the planning of my wedding, he was probably at his lowest point in his life. And he was doing all sorts of things that weren’t healthy for him, and I think … he was just having a party and I don’t think he realized what was happening and the pain it was causing me and George because that is so hard to watch a child go down and not be able to do a thing about it. And there were so many times that I tried to help and he wasn’t ready. He wasn’t ready. And it was only I think, Josh, it was probably close to three weeks before the wedding where he did reach out. And basically he said, “I need help. I know I need help, and I need help. Will you be there?” And so we started meeting for lunches and dinners and he’s absolutely right in saying that his girlfriend was very instrumental in trying to just get him down on the right path. So, you know, we started talking about the wedding a lot and eventually he said that he would be able to show up, be healthy, and not cause problems, and so I asked him to escort my mother down the aisle, which she was very proud to have.

Bravotv.com: Is that girlfriend still around?

Josh: You had to ask!

Bravotv.com: She's the one we see you sit next to at the wedding, right?

Josh: Yeah. ... We’re both making lots of changes in our lives right now. You know, it’s sad because I lived with her. … when you live with someone and when you date someone, when you’re living with them, you’re getting to know them ten time faster. And I lived with her for six months. And I loved her more everyday. She was the one person that was really trying to push my family, me into reconciling with my family. She was the one that pushed me. She watched me do drugs everyday, and she told me, “You can’t keep doing this. You can’t keep living like this. You’re going to end up dead.” And I knew she was right. I knew she was right. I looked her in her green eyes and just ignored it. Until one day I said, “I cannot not go to this wedding. There’s no way I can’t do it.” My family is changing, not disappearing. I just have to step up and just be happy with it. And she was like, “I’ll be there with you for every step you take through it.” I was like, “Alright, let’s do this.” I called my mom. My mom actually picked us up. I was actually car-less at the time. Life has changed. … Now I bought my own Audi and I’m trying to make things happen just in the last minute.

Lauri: Wait a minute – who helped you buy that Audi [ laughing]? … I have to give props to [Josh's ex-girlfriend] because it was interesting hearing Josh just then say, “She watched me do drugs everyday, and I couldn’t do this anymore ….” Well, we all said those same things too. But as parents, children don’t hear parents’ voices. So, thank God, he had her in his life at that time. He heard her. He didn’t hear us, but he did hear. So, I appreciate her for that. But I think Josh kind of summed it up … Josh is 19 years old now. That’s another thing that viewers don’t realize. They still think of him as being 16 or whatever. So, Josh is 19, and both of them just needed to make some changes. They needed to work through the changes and be strong people, so they can be good for each other. So, they’re both working on their lives individually. Who knows what the future holds?

Josh: In other words, no we’re not together. In the nice well-mannered presentation it’s more of a break. She told me the night before, she actually asked me if I love her. I said, “Yeah.” She said, “I love you too, but this, we’re not going anywhere.” She was heavily involved with me in … cause that was my job … was parties. I was an event coordinator for three different companies. … helping promote clubs, things like that .... That type of stuff takes a toll on a person. [I] lost 15 pounds. I mean it’s a lot of staying up and partying all night. It’s not healthy. I wasn’t the mature person to say, “You have to go to school.” I was the immature person saying, “I have a hot girl next to me.” I didn’t look at it right. I didn’t handle it the way I should have. I think she’s on the East Coast right now. … I don’t get that much information on it, which is hard. I figure how bad could it be? She’s been gone for three or four months now.

Lauri: It was interesting that you just said that you lost 15 pounds because actually, what viewers don’t know, is two weeks after the wedding, Josh took a major step to get himself out of the situation he was in. So, he went into a hospital, and I mean his weight was 130 pounds. He’s now at, what 170, Josh? It was a huge amount.

Josh: I looked like shit at the wedding. I was like, “God is that me?”

Lauri: Josh’s appearance was … it was shocking to me, especially when I got my wedding photos back. He looked like a concentration camp survivor or someone going through chemotherapy. I don’t think Josh realized how close to death he was. He was so emaciated.

Josh: Moms always say that – I don’t know about that, but I was definitely on a track towards death. No one can live a life like that. No one can live a life … what most people do on Saturdays for fun, you’re doing everyday. It’s a source of income for you. At the time I was like, “This is the best job of my life ….” … have a drink in my hand. It’s 3 p.m. and my day is just starting. And that’s everyday. It takes a toll on you.

Bravotv.com: You’re not doing those events anymore?

Josh: No -- I’m not. … I actually attended one, but I didn’t work the party. It was massive … 40,000 people, and I was sober and I had fun. It was great.

Lauri: He’s working at a local restaurant. You’ve been linedancing, huh, Josh?

Bravotv.com: Wait, what?

Josh: They have this little thing where three times a day … they dance. I hide.

Seriously Roxie, boobage and I am so Chrisitian but I would xxx you IF you married me. Hopefully season 4 brings a smart, sexy, pretty 50+ woman and the I am still in high school gal from this year is put away forever.........

Las Vegas and Roxie -- what a hoot! The chats between Billy and me had been too serious and I thought that a little levity would lighten up the trip. So I grabbed my sassy blond wig and transformed myself into Roxie one evening. It was “no harm no foul” and Billy had fun with it. It was Las Vegas after all and time to have a little fun! I work hard all week and Billy does too, so a little play time was much needed.

My Roxie “persona” if you will, was created during the time that I was dating David from San Clemente. He REALLY loved Size 2-blondes and secretly (or maybe not so secretly) wished that I was one I suppose. So I dieted and exercised down to a Size 4 and purchased a blond wig. He LOVED it when I wore it and it was a playful evening out when Roxie came along. The trouble was or I guess I should say my lesson was … that no matter what size a person is or what color their hair is or -- let’s take it one step further -- what age they are … it really shouldn’t matter if you love them. But for a fun evening out and away from your normal circle of friends, try it. It’s fun to pretend and be playful every so often.

Billy and I broke up right after the Vegas trip and I mean right after. In fact during the trip I think we both knew. So when we came back to the OC and talked about “us," we both decided that it just was not going to work. Despite the fact that we connect and are attracted to each other, that in and of itself is just not enough. Yes we still e-mail, text, and talk to each other. In fact we met up for coffee just a few weeks back. He is a nice man, and he is a friend. He just wrote me last night about getting together for coffee again soon or even dinner.

Looking back on the season, I have learned that my selection of attire needs to be altered. My tops were way too low, I agree. I have learned what it means when the Bible says, “Do not throw your pearls before swine.” We need to be careful about what we share with people, and use discernment as to whether they will scorn precious things or listen with an open mind. Or another thought is: Maybe we give ourselves to people that cannot or do not appreciate the gift.

On a lighter note, being recognized is fun. I’m still not used to it and smile when people stop and ask me for a photo or ask me questions about the show. I’ve learned that being called a “cougar” might not be a bad thing. Jared said, “Have you ever seen an ugly cougar? NO! The word cougar suggests a successful, older but BEAUTIFUL woman.” Thank you Jared for the sweetness, and now you can see why I keep him around, huh?

My Top Five Favorite Moments from this season were:
1. Meeting all the housewives for the first time. That was both my most frightening experience and now looking back my favorite. How far we all have come getting to know each other better. Wiith two new ladies on board this season I realize that they had to open up their inner circle more than they had originally planned on. I want to thank them for including me more and more on all the fun activities that they get invited to.

2. My BBQ with all my best friends in my back yard was special. I had BFFs flying in from Austin and Bainbridge and NY. We had so much fun! The gals liked David cooking for them and I think David loved being with eight ladies, and it was fun for him also.

3. The Las Vegas trip -- while hard emotionally it was a breathtakingly beautiful resort. We stayed in an over-the-top villa and got pampered every day. Who wouldn’t love that?

4. The end of season party in Jeana’s backyard was special. Colin had the opportunity to mix and mingle with the other kids for really the first time.

5. The reunion show was a blast! Being treated like a star by Bravo and Evolution with gifts and goodies was an unexpected surprise. Meeting the wonderful and funny Andy Cohen was very special and getting to hang with Tamra, Jeana, Vicki, Lauri, and Tammy again was too much fun.

The experience as a whole was fun, exciting, exhausting, thrilling, and scary all at once -- I loved it! Thank you, Bravo, and many thanks to the fans of the show for allowing me to share my life, albeit a very small snippet of it, with you. Miss Tamra has grown on us and we end the season wishing the Barneys were our neighbors! But honey, Lauri with baby - uhhh NO. These two have proven that loving parenting is not a value they possess so let's drop that idea. I know - how about parent the ones they have? hmmmm what a concept!!

Lauri and George's wedding was so beautiful -- it took my breath away. Lauri looked amazing and George so handsome. Simon and I are so happy for them. They are so in love and it is obvious. I wish them years of love, happiness, and all the joys of being married. Maybe even a baby? Ahhh -- think how cute it would be, Lauri!

I would have to say that last year was one of the most exciting times of my life. If someone would have told me a year ago that I'd be on a TV show I would have told them they were crazy. I never in a million years would have believed them! The friends that I have made during this process has made every stupid thing I said on TV worth it. All the housewives are wonderful women and I have them as friends forever. There were so many good times I don't even know where to start. From going to New York and attending the Project Runway fashion show to Access Hollywood, Extra, The Today Show, and the new 1500+ MySpace fans I have. The first season you are on a show is definitely a learning experience. It is almost therapeutic to see yourself from the outside. There were things I wish I did not say and certain facial expressions that I will never make again.

My life has changed drastically for good and bad. Thank God the good outweighs the bad. I get recognized whereever I go. It is so funny to see their expressions -- some people will look at me and turn away real fast like they don't want me to think they are staring or they will follow me around the store until I say something or the occasional screamer" "OMG YOU'RE THAT GIRL FROM THE RHOC!" The young girls are funny -- I had one scream in the middle of the mall, "Your oldest son is SO hot!"

Getting into restaurants is a lot easier now. BUT, the privacy issue is sometimes a problem. I had to change all my phone numbers and people drive by the house all the time (the neighbors don't like that too much). I feel like I can't leave the house without looking my best or I have to put a hat and sunglasses on (doesn't work). I heard that we all get pre-judged, I think people need to keep in mind that just because they don't show us at charity events or playing with our kids or going to church doesn't mean we don't do those things. I have recently gotten involved with a charity called Childhelp. Now that the season is over I am looking forward to giving them more of my time.

Overall I loved working with everyone and it was an opportunity of a lifetime and I am sad that the season is over.

Here are my Top Five Favorite Moments from this season:

1. My birthday party was so amazing. I am so happy to have it all documented on film. Thanks again, Simon, for a great party

2. Ryan moving back into the house was something that I had wanted for years. It was so nice to see him every day and for the little kids to be around their big brother.

3. The Harley ride was so much fun. Getting all our friends together and riding over to Cook's Corner is always a blast.

4. Going to San Diego with the Housewives and staying at the beautiful hotel -- being pampered is always nice.

5. Sharing my surgery with the viewers was special to me. I got so many e-mails from girls all over the world that had the same problem. I think I inspired other women to have the BIG implants removed and go natural, or have smaller more comfortable implants replaced.

Vicki's New Blog Post - JAN 22, 2008

Hmm.. they all used the same words for the wedding - that's creative! Anywho - Vicki is an incredibly smart lady but seriously WOOHOOHOOHOOHOOOOO contantly is not going to make anyone see Ms. Vicky as professional. We'll see if she has toned it down when Season 4 hits.

Lauri’s wedding was magical. She looked like a princess and extremely happy. I’m glad that they decided to have it at their home, as it was much more intimate and romantic than a wedding in a building. I am so happy that Lauri has finally found the man that truly makes her content and happy. I am confident they will be together for forever.

It was also great seeing Jo at Jeana’s. I hadn’t seen her for a while, so it was nice that she was able to stop by and see us all. It was like “good ol’ times.”

And here are my Top Five Favorite Moments from this season:

1. Taking my kids, Lauren, and Colby to Puerto Vallarta and doing the canopy/zip lining with them. What a blast!

2. Moving my office from my home to a building. This was a big step for me in building my career and separating work from home.

3. Taking my assistant Tammy for a makeover. She looked fabulous when it was done.

4. Taking Jeana and Tammy with Donn and I to the river. That was a great weekend, and I know they loved it.

5. Bringing Michael to Seattle to visit my “team” for Coto Financial. Having Michael take an interest in pursuing this for a career was awesome and I was very proud of him.

Jeanna's New Blog - JAN 22, 2008

From BravoTV - Jeanna seems so down to earth. But she seriously cannot be too upset with Kara as she is going to Berkeley. I'm just saying.......she could be protesting with dirty unkempt hair or stopped shaving - nose ring not so bad...

Lauri’s wedding was magical. She looked stunning, like the princess she is! From the moment we arrived it was like being in a fabulous hotel -- there were the most amazing flowers everywhere. There were dangling votives from the trees with crystals that made the trees look like chandeliers. The pool was transformed into a dance floor covered with vines. The bridal party of their children was so touching. I was glad Kara hadn’t come because that would have been her expectation for a wedding! The St. Regis did the food and it was five-star all the way. The cake was the centerpiece of the room -- it was beautiful. The tent should have been left up for months it was so unreal. Playboy always had the best tents, and this beat that. All white, romantic, whimsical -- you name it, they did it. All of us were so happy to share their magical day.

Donn loves to hang at home and regroup after a long day talking to people, but we never did get to go to dinner. I think he loves his alone time. I know my husband always did.

It was great seeing Jo for the reunion. She looked adorable. Slade keeps me up to date with Jo info and sightings, so I knew almost everything she was up too. She is excited about the album and it sounded great. The production was awesome, and I think she has some hits in there!

Miss Kara did pierce her nose and I was angry the whole drive up. No more extra money for her until it is out. I called her and asked her if she was getting tattoos on her off day and she hung up -- no sense of humor. I am beyond angry at the nose, two inches away her ears are pierced -- why not wear earrings? Her beautiful face with an ugly scar when she comes to her senses.

As for my favorite moments ... The wedding of course is my favorite -- all of us together and in such a great setting. My next favorite -- and I still cry thinking about it -- was Tammy's bikini wax. I loved our time with Shane in Canada -- those moments touch my heart. Kara, Blair, Colton, and the gang in Mexico was so fun and relaxing. By the way, Colton being left alone in OC when I left town wasn’t really accurate. He had his Aunt Raeni watching him and Lupe. I didn’t tell him I was leaving because he would have thrown a huge party. This way he didn’t have too much time to plan one. We ended the season traveling to New York with Simon, Tamara, Tammy, Vicki, Donn, Kara, and George and Lauri, and it was a blast. We all went for the Project Runway premiere and it was so fun, meeting all the Top Chef and PR people. Getting to spend time with Bravo people like Andy Cohen was fun. It was great meeting all the people who do the behind-the-scenes postings, blogs, ads, and PR for the show.

Kara is settling in nicely in Berkeley. Frankie and Richard have taken her out and all her old friends are back from Christmas. One of Shane's best friends, Pat, is an amazing soccer player and he will keep a close eye on her. Her suite mates are all really nice and she is very excited to start her first day of school. She has walked miles to and from school and joined a gym to keep from getting the cursed "Freshman 15." Her first trip home is Feb. 2nd for the weekend and after that we will see. She wants to play volleyball and take a dance class to keep her busy. I am excited for her new adventure and will even be more so when she loses the nose stone.

3rd Season Re-Cap - Quinn Fry

Back Story
Quinn is new this year and we were promised a Cougar, that is an older woman seeking romance with much younger men. Quinn has a grown daughter from her first marriage and a teenage son from her 2nd marriage. Her daughter is married and lives in Eureka, CA. We never saw her on camera. Her son was on camera a couple of times and attends a local high school.

She is a born again Christian and works in marketing. She dates and teases many men, some younger and some close to her age. She is supposedly holding herself out until she is married even though she has already been married 2x. She claims to be a sexual animal who needs to let the beast out but ONLY if she is married all the while whispering what she will do to the men she is with and dropping her boobage in their lap.

Problems we have with Quinn -
#1 - Boobage to China
The woman believes her breasts are her best asset and constantly wears shirts that are like open drapes. The problem is the boobage is large, grand and obnoxious and she likes to present her Christian self with cleaveage to China. Truly repulsive in many shots. She is very pretty so there really is no need.

#2 - Billy -
One of the men she dates is an anal verbiage correcting golf pro who is close in age to her. He has never been married and seriously talks about having kids with Quinn. Uh, duh didn't he remember she is 52 so the eggs have pretty much boiled at this point? Quinn is so desperate that she tells him when she is dating other men and then asks him if he is HER boyfriend. I'll never forget him telling her they are not pals and that basically chemistry is all they have yet she won't sleep with him until they are married which isn't going to happen. THEN the Quinnster dresses like a hooker, puts on a blonde wig and role plays a convention attendee in Vegas all the while Billy's eyes say, "Phew, and I thought I wasn't ever going to get this broad." Sadly he didn't as the hooker ruse was just that a ruse and by the end of the season we find out Billy and the Quinnster are no longer together. (One wonders how embarassed her son is to see her behave like this on TV and what kind of ribbing he received at school.)

#3 - Jared -
This is the guy who defines her Cougar description. He is 27, not bad looking but very strange. He tells her, a 52 year old woman, that his watch can tell if she is wearing underwear or not. Umm.. huh.... wow - jump him so funny ..............if you were 15. I'm just saying. Enough said she doesn't put out and he is on his merry way once the show ends. He is a publicity hound, his so called apartment had nothing in it (setup maybe cuz maybe he lives with his mommy?) and Quinnster uses him to show off in front of the girls. Of course, they don't know her so they ask her if he is her son!! Claws, ladies.....

Summary
We're not sure she was a great addition to the cast. She didn't hang out or socialize with them unless forced. After the show ended all the parties that are videotaped (Not Jeanna's BBQ), didn't show her attending. She is a beautiful woman who is clearly desperate for attention. A cougar she is not but desperate she so appears to be. The woman needs to learn how to dress and how to act as though she has graduated from High School. Seriously asking a man after 3 months if you are his girlfriend is so what, 8th grade? We like that she is independant and has a good work ethic. Her son seems very grounded. She kept the rest of her family as well as her ex's off the show so we really don't know her 'true' story.

If you read the MySpace dialogue we posted on another thread she is having a conversation with a male and you will see she is seriously in need of some help. Quinnster should think about her son as he is stil in HS and she is embarassing to say the least. 'Real Housewives' finale breaks the show's rating record

The third season finale of Bravo's reality TV show "The Real Housewives of Orange County" was the highest rated episode in series history.

The Jan. 22 episode, which featured the sky's-the-limit wedding of Lauri Waring and George Peterson, attracted a record-setting 2.018 million total viewers and 1.488 million between the ages of 18 and 49, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Those figures cap another successful week for the cable network. Bravo enjoyed its second consecutive week of record-breaking highs among adults 18-49 and total viewers in prime time. This month is shaping up to be Bravo's best ever, the network said in a statement issued Thursday.

Season three of "Housewives" averaged 1.315 million total viewers and 997,000 among adults 18-49, representing 21 and 15 percent increases over season two, respectively. The season three finale saw a 37 percent increase among total viewers over season two's final episode, the network said.

Page views of "Housewives" on Bravo's Web site, www.bravotv.com, also hit new records this past season.

The network did not release any information about continuing the Orange County-based reality program for a fourth season. Its "Real Housewives of New York City" spinoff will start March 4.

A special, "reunion" episode featuring all six Orange County housewives will air at 9 p.m. Jan. 29. Bravo programming executive Andy Cohen will host "The Real Housewives Confess: Watch What Happens Special," which is being billed as a behind-the-scenes dish on the most dramatic and sensational moments from season three. Aren't speeches supposed to be a suprise to the bride and groom? Nothing suprises us about the Faux Fairytale that is the Peterson wedding.

3rd Season Wrap Up - Jo De La Rosa

We were rarely graced with the appearance of Jo this season. Last fall we were under the impression the CD was to be released in the 4th QTR. Now we hear it will not be released until this summer.

Seasons one and two showed an egocentric gold digging partier who hated her fake housewife life but loved the financial perks it offered. That's what you get when you date a man who is oh let's be nice and say at least 15+ years older than you. HOWEVER, she finally woke up and decided to move to LA and live the life of the typical 26/27 year old. She moved here from Peru when she was 3 so we aren't really sure her true age. I know her myspace continues to say 24 but we know that isn't true.

Kudos to Jo for trying to be a singer if that has always been her dream. She is young and single without kids so now is the time to attempt it. We also heard her looking for love/singing career Bravo reality show was filming in Dec. but haven't heard anything since then. Press in December said it would air in early 2008. Hmm.... wouldn't that be now? We applaud Ms. Joe for finally living the life everyone else her age is living.

We wish her success with her career. At least Ms. De La Rosa had the brains to acquire an education prior to taking the risk with a singing career. She may like to play a baby talking ditz but we know she has a BA in English, knows how to dress professionally (remember her Melrose place suits from her title insurance job)and will be fine if her singing or reality tv exposure isn't financially successful.

One has to wonder how Ms. De La Rosa is paying for her apartment, food, clothes etc. since her album hasn't been released, Slade has financial issues and her reality show pilot hasn't aired. Maybe advances or is she working a real job and we just haven't heard or is there a new wealthy, older guy in her life?

Editing was rough, poo poo, you have to give material to be edited and it was crystal clear who these two are.)

Guest column: What it was like to be at the 'Housewives' wedding
A relative of Lauri Waring's new spouse details the nuptials featured in the final episode of the show's third season.

Editor's note: Nancy Slater, a Register associate, attended the wedding of "Real Housewives" cast member Lauri Waring and George Peterson – an event chronicled in the Jan. 22 episode of the show – because she and Peterson are related. Here is her account of the ceremony from the perspective of a friend and family member. Waring provided input on some of the details of the wedding.

I should first explain how I became the proud owner of a golden ticket. As a child I would see George mostly every year at his family's annual Christmas party. My late father and his mother were cousins so I guess that makes me his cousin removed or maybe his second cousin? In any case, it's nice to be able to go on the record and say George is a very kind man from a very nice family.

The wedding was pure class from the beginning to end. To start with, George greeted the guests at the front gate of his Tuscany style home, which I'm sure was in part to keep out crashers, no names mentioned (Frank Mickadeit), but also to personally welcome friends and family while his princess readied herself inside the castle. After a brief hello, we were stopped to have our Polaroid taken, which was placed in the guest book next to our signature. Then it was a trip to the water bar – and I don't mean a bar in the water. I mean we were offered any and every kind of chilled, bottled water in beautiful glass bottles. I had the pomegranate and meandered with other guests through an enchanted rose garden.

The setting of the ceremony was beautiful. It took place on an outside lawn at that magical hour of golden sunlight under oak trees dripping with orchids and crystals. The arched hedges were adorned with the initials "LG," which were made of roses. The bridesmaids – consisting of Lauri's daughter Ashley, George's daughters Mckenzie and Danyka, and three others – looked like goddesses as they floated down the aisle in beautiful green dresses. Lauri's daughter Sophia and George's daughter Bria looked angelic as they tossed roses about the aisle. Lauri looked stunning, as we all knew she would, as she walked down the rose petal covered aisle. Lauri didn't take her eyes off George, who was flanked by his best man and five groomsmen. The ceremony was lovely and intimate and seemed much about the blending of two families. It was truly a holy union!

After the ceremony, delicious hors d'oeuvres and drinks were served on top of the covered pool, now serving as a dance floor. We marveled at the orchids, crystals and votive candles hanging from every branch in the backyard and over the dance floor. Chimes rang and it was time to enter the "tent" for a five course dinner, where I think George put it best when he said he had to "build his own hotel." There were pillars, plants, giant gold, gilded mirrors, chandeliers, endless yards of draped silks and white plush carpeting throughout.

Beautiful live music filled the air and the floral centerpieces looked like Eden's vines with strands of pearls and crystals leading to more flowers and boxes of fine chocolates. I don't know who was cooking at the St. Regis that night because their chef was on-site to prepare our exquisite five-star cuisine with a Tuscan flair. In between courses, I noticed our table was right next to the "housewives" who were perfectly behaved, glamour girl guests. I was nervous as Ashley began her toast but must admit she delivered a flawless speech, complete with jokes, words of wisdom and her loving "although you might not think I was listening over the years, I heard every word you said."

Leaving the dinner I was stunned, but pleasantly surprised that the ceremony area had been completely transformed into a South Beach inspired VIP lounge complete with white velvet couches and tables set in blue mood lighting. The party was just starting to rock when my husband and I turned into pumpkins, having to relieve my mother of baby-sitting duties. I briefly thanked George and told Lauri how wonderful it all was, how well Ashley did and how nice Josh looked (yes, Josh was there). Lauri was extremely gracious. She said she felt like Cinderella and to me, she was. As we left our fairy tale night, a laser spotlight lit the street with one last bit of magic that said, "Ciao, Grazie – Lauri and George".

San Clemente’s Quinn Fry opens the door to her life on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Orange County next week

Not too long ago it was San Clemente’s Moana Dixon, a runner-up on ABC’s The Bachelor. Then San Clemente High School alumni Tessa Keller and Alex Atkinson on MTV’s Laguna Beach: the Real Orange County and pro skateboarder Ryan Sheckler on the network’s Life of Ryan. And now Quinn Fry is stepping in front of the camera for Bravo’s reality show The Real Housewives of Orange County—a program in its third season that follows five women’s lives, women mostly from the affluent community of Coto de Caza. Fry, a divorced—but dating, she says—mother of two, will make six. In fact, her son, Colin Kirkpatrick, a senior at SCHS, filmed with her on a few occasions; but her daughter, Shannon Nichols, 31, stayed off the screen.

“[Bravo] said they were looking for five new families from San Clemente to Newport, and they needed vivacious personalities and people who were busy and who were the modern-day sense of the word housewife,” says Fry, who’s 52, but with a smile, will always say 29 and holding. “I thought, I’m all of those things, so I went.” And busy is working full time as a managing editor for an Internet event Web site and a major telecommunications company. “I could go to an event every night because of what I do for work,” she says.

While the season premiered November 6, she joins the cast on the episode that airs Tuesday, December 11 at 10 p.m. And while she’s a little nervous about how she’ll be perceived, she’s ready to “laugh it off.” “You know what, it’s just television,” she says. So before San Clemente’s newest reality TV star hits prime time, meet Quinn Fry, in her own words…

SC Times: Why did you want to be the next ‘Real Housewife?’

Quinn Fry: I’ve met such amazing women in Orange County—people who have come up from not a lot of money, people who have done really well as single parents, people who are the most wonderful, down-to-earth people—and I just felt that the show represented a certain segment of Orange County but not all of it. And I thought I’d round it out.

I think coming from Northern California, I’m a real grounded girl. I grew up on a little farm with cows and horses, and I worked my way up. I have what I have because I did it all; I didn’t get it through a divorce or through someone giving it to me. I just worked really hard, and I’m pretty proud of that. It’s hard to do: raising a family and working full time. I’m just really real.

SCT: How did you get on the show?

QF: They had a casting call at the Balboa Bay Yacht Club back in April. I didn’t have time to think about it: I saw the casting call on Friday and it was the next day on Saturday, so I just thought I’d throw my name in the hat.

SCT: What was the next step after the casting call?

QF: They came to the house. They told me that day, which was interesting to know that right away they must have liked me. They told me I was welcome to bring friends and family to ask them any questions. And that felt really comfortable because I was a little leery putting myself out there. My son was there and some good friends were there, and we asked them a lot of questions. What I got back was—besides loving the casting people, they were very cool—that, you know what, it’s about me. So if I want to say this, I can say this. If I want to show that part, I can show that part—it’s reality.

SCT: How has your life been affected with camera crews following you around?

QF: So far, they filmed a lot in the summer—obviously after work and a lot on weekends, so I was really busy. It was fun. It hasn’t hit yet, nobody knows about me, so it hasn’t been affected so far. My friends are extremely excited. Since it’s about the other five girls right now, I’m not affected.

SCT: Are the cameras with you 24/7?

QF: No, I worked full time during this whole thing. They were very accommodating. We kind of did a weekly schedule—because I’m really busy with events. They would say, ‘What are you doing this week?’ And I told them. And they said, ‘Can we go there?’ I would say, ‘Yes,’ or I would call whomever I was dating and say, ‘Can we go to dinner?’ They were very accommodating to my schedule, and it was only for a couple of hours. Maybe on a weekend it would be longer. The camera crews—there were three of them—were all amazingly cool.

SCT: What about your wardrobe? Did you have to revamp it?

QF: Yea, that was interesting. [Laughs.] If I would have known what I know now… A girl looks in her closest and she’s like, ‘Holy moly, I’ve got to go here and I’ve got to go there, and I can’t be seen in the same outfit like every single time.” I pretty much depleted my wardrobe, borrowed from friends and, luckily, I have some amazingly cool girlfriends with great clothes. I even went to Tadashi and Mikimoto [at South Coast Plaza] and different people in the mall to beg, borrow and steal from them.

SCT: You’re joining five other women on the show, how does your character fit in to the mix?

QF: I just felt like one of the girls after I met them all. I only really got to meet them on camera, so I haven’t done a lot of off camera with them—everyone’s just got such busy lives.

SCT: Each of the housewives has a quick bio on Bravotv.com: In your words, what would be your one-liner?

QF: I’m a woman of contradictions. I go to church, I read the Bible and I try my best to be a good person, but I have a strong sensual side. I’m dating in Orange County and it’s really hard to be single for 16 years and dating and trying to keep boundaries there. I’m a hard-working woman who’s trying to find her guy in the world. That’s longer than a sentence, but that’s kind of what I’m doing right now. It’s hard to find a quality man out there; it’s horrible.

SCT: Are people coming out of the woodworks? Are ex-boyfriends knocking on your door?

QF: Yes. [Laughs.] One ex-boyfriend did surprise me on camera. I didn’t know he was going to come out this way. Ex-boyfriends who have been out of the picture for a while want back in. You just really need to know who your friends are—your friends who were friends before [the show] are true friends.

SCT: What do you imagine your life will be like after the premiere?

QF: It’s so surreal right now; it’s normal right now. I see the publicity that comes out about the girls, and I’m like, ‘Wow, they’re everywhere.’ It’s hard to put myself in there because it’s not happened. I’m hoping that with this I can somehow give back to people: I’m more of a giver than a taker. So if I can go to a charity event or put my name on something to help somebody else, I think that’s going to be a way for me to feel like this has been worthwhile in putting my face and life out there for all to see. There’s got to be some good to come out of this and I’m hoping for that. I’m not thinking too much of what’s in it for me; I just don’t think that way.

SCT: What were some of your first impressions of the show?

QF: [Pause.] As far as the girls go, I wasn’t that impressed. I could understand why people had some negative comments to say. But now after meeting them they’re pretty nice people. I think people are harder on people who are on camera, because they only see a snippet of their life; they don’t really see the whole picture.

SCT: Are you afraid that your snippets will give people the wrong idea of who you are?

QF: Of course I am. I have no control of what film they use in all of those hours of filming. What everyone is going to see is just a little piece. What I’d like to say to anyone who’s looking at that is to understand that there’s a whole life behind that snippet. People are quick to judge without really knowing somebody, and I don’t think that’s right. I’m sure that’s going to happen. It’s just reality TV. It’s not who or what makes up Quinn Fry.

SCT: Have you faced any of the stereotypes that come along with the show?

QF: I’m unsure how [viewers] will react. They’ll probably bunch me into the stereotypical Orange County–, wealthy, shallow-, superficial-, gold digger–type of person that the show’s had some bad publicity on—I know especially the first year. Not everyone’s like that, even meeting the girls—they’re not like that. [But because the show hasn’t aired yet] I’m still stealth; I still can go to T.J. Maxx and shop without someone looking over my shoulder or go out of the house without makeup.

SCT: So…are you happy with your decision to open your life up on TV?

QF: Yea, I am happy. It was a lot of fun. If people don’t take it so seriously and just realize it’s a fun thing, it’ll be wonderful.

Last night Your Mama received a lovely communication from a nice young man we'll call Mister Happypants who was generous and kind enough to send over some paperwork that clearly shows that former Housewives of Orange County stud muffin Slade Smiley's Coto de Caza house is indeed sliding into foreclosure, if it hasn't already.

According to a Notice of Trustees Sale (dated August 28th, 2007) that was provided to Your Mama by Mister Happypants, Mister Smiley owes $1,408,662 and seven damn cents on his uglee ass house with a criminal amount of white carpeting. The N.T.S. also indicates that the house was to be sold at auction on September 27, 2007. Property records do not reveal a sale at that time, so Your Mama does not know if Mister Smiley managed to hold off the sale or if a sale is simply not yet reflected in public records.

However, you'll recall that the house was last listed at $1,290,000, less that what Mister Smiley owed on the property, which might explain why Mister Smiley's shit was all piled up in Vicki Gunvalson's real estate mistake in last week's titillating and exciting episode.

Now puppies, Your Mama does not want to pour any fuel onto Mister Smiley's financial fire, but it does seem a wee bit strange and sad that a man rich (and foolish) enough to buy his not very intelligent appearing gurlfriend a e-class Mercedes finds himself in such a monetary pickle. Or did he lease it? Uh oh. That would leave poor Jo in need of another male benefactor to buy (or lease) her a luxury automobile.

Anyhoo, Celebrity real estate maven Miz Ruth Ryon at the the LA Times recently reported that Mister Smiley purchased a condo at the Eastern Columbia loft building in downtown Los Angeles. Your Mama poured over the available E.C. deed documents with a fine tooth comb, and we failed to come up with a paper trail for a purchase by Mister Smiley.

And, of course, we wonder how a man headed into foreclosure, a man who can not even afford to store his belongings, could possibly afford a six or seven hundred thousand dollar condominium. Anyone? Your Mama speculates (we speculate kids, we know NOTHING) that IF the rumored to be impoverished Mister Smiley is indeed living at the Eastern Columbia, it might just be thanks to the good graces of a ladee friend with large plastic boobies and a fat wallet.

Now why isn't this imbroglio being captured on The Housewives of Orange County, because puppies, this is reality.

Finale - Is it the Finale for the Show as well?

The appeal of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Orange County" has always been that it gave us average viewers a peek into a world many desire but few achieve.

In many ways, it has also shown average viewers that, well, it may be a world they don't want to be a part of, either. It's a cutthroat, catty place where painful Botox shots and breast implants are the cost of entree, and the running tab includes broken marriages, screwy kids and bad dye jobs.

But that world also made for delicious television.

They were different.

Until now.

In Tuesday night's third-season finale (10 p.m.), which also feels a lot like a series finale, the stars of this reality docudrama show us they're not really much different after all.

That's sad.

For example, halfway through this disjointed episode, which starts with Lauri Waring's overhyped wedding, the action cuts to a party at Jeana Keough's home where all of the women are back together: Vicki Gunvalson, Tammy Knickerbocker, Waring, Tamra Barney, Quinn Fry and, yes, former member of the exclusive clique, Jo De La Rosa.

There, insurance mogul Gunvalson pounds down martinis like a champ.

"Vicki's always a ton of fun," says Barney, seen dancing behind Gunvalson and pawing her breasts.

Then they bounce breasts - a "booby kiss" - Barney says, followed by a tight shot of Barney's surgically sculpted cleavage.

"When she gets drunk, she's all about the boobs," Barney adds about Gunvalson.

There are a million cheap jokes that could be made at this juncture. But more importantly, at that instant the show was over. The thrill was gone. Gone was the wall that separated average folks from the appalling filthy rich that made this show such a delight.

With a few brief lines of goofy dialogue and a video clip, "The Real Housewives" shifted - from a window into a seemingly glamorous world many could only visit on TV to a moment no doubt played all over Sunday by two drunk Giants fans doing a belly-bounce after Lawrence Tynes split the uprights to put the Giants in the Super Bowl.

After three seasons, we learn these Orange County types are no different from the fans at the corner tavern.

Booby kiss, belly bounce, we're all alike.

Bravo hasn't said whether the Orange County women will be back. There's a version of the show with Manhattan women just around the bend.

Waring's wedding segment was a bust in more ways than one, but notably TV-dramawise. And, Keough's party really feels like a cast wrap event.

Good thing.

It was fun when we thought the women were really different. It's not so fun when we find out they're just like us.

In a lawsuit filed just under a year after he was hit in the head by a foul ball, former California Angels pitcher MATT KEOUGH alleges he was severely injured because there was no protective screen in front of the dugouts at Scottsdale Stadium.

"He has had a serious brain injury," attorney CHARLES M. BREWER said of his client. "He has double vision and epilepsy. He'll never play ball again."

Keough's suit was filed Monday in Maricopa County Superior Court in Phoenix. It said that since Keough's injury on March 16, protective screens have been installed in front of the stadium's dugouts "to prevent reoccurences of this hazardous condition."

The alterations were made about three months after Keough was struck.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages, but Brewer said a claim was lodged Friday with Scottsdale seeking nearly $11 million in damages for Keough, 37, his wife, JEANA, and their three children.

Keough, who lives in the Los Angeles area, is now a scout for the Angels.

LOS ANGELES -- A young woman was behind bars Thursday on suspicion of turning her parents' fancy Laguna Niguel, Calif., mansion into a meth lab.

Meth lab linked to a gang called Nazi Low Riders // Million-dollar drug operation was to benefit prison group, prosecutor says.

Three men were arrested with the woman.

Arrested Wednesday night were Adriean Volz, 22, daughter of the woman who owns the house; Damien Smith, 27, a parolee; Kevin Lattienville, 23, of San Gabriel; and Thomas Leo Zon, 34, a parolee from Azusa, Amormino said. All four were arrested on suspicion of making methamphetamine.

Hazardous materials teams descended on the roughly $3 million Mediterranean-style home at 22805 Channel View in gated Monarch Point Wednesday and seized about $1 million worth of the homemade "speed," according to Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

About 50 pounds of the crystalline stimulant, cooked up and ready to sell, was seized.

The home is owned by Volz's mother, Gina Peterson, the estranged wife of Irvine construction executive, George Peterson, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The couple are divorcing, and the mother and the stepfather had moved out, leaving the 5,000-square-foot home for the daughter to live in, the newspaper reported.

Amormino called the bust the biggest of its kind in Orange County, Calif., in a decade.

On Tuesday night, a sheriff's deputy spotted Lattienville outside the suburban "super lab" and started questioning him, Amormino said.

About that time, Smith came out and was recognized as a parolee, one in poor standing with the law for failing to check in with his probation officer, he said.

Smith ran but was caught, and that prompted deputies to find out what was going on inside.

Methamphetamine is often made with over-the-counter drugs containing ephedrine or pseudoephedrine and distilled with acids and solvents, including volatile chemicals such as red phosphorus and hydrochloric acid. Sometimes cruder solvents and corrosives are used, kerosene or lye, according to drug enforcement authorities.

The stuff sells on the streets for about $100 per gram. The effects can include paranoia and delusions.

As for my new boyfriend, I had known him for awhile, while dating the last "one." Darren Vieth of La Verne, ex-husband of new housewife Tamra Barney, says her brief, on-air descriptions of his lack of involvement in raising their son Ryan were untrue and "shocking."

"It's unfortunate for the sake of the show that I get bad-mouthed as being a father not in the kid's life," said Vieth, 42. "It's not true at all. I paid my child support promptly and saw him every Wednesday, then every other weekend. He took his first plane trip with me to Hawaii. I felt pretty saddened that somebody has to stoop this low. (She) threw me to the wolves. I know a lot of people, and I don't want to be known as somebody who's a deadbeat father."

Barney said the whole interview was cut in half, and she's sorry her ex-husband was hurt by the things she said.

"Neither of us were perfect parents," said Barney, 40, of Ladera Ranch. "We were 19 years old. You don't always make the best judgment at that age."

Nevertheless, Barney stood by her comments, saying that Vieth wasn't always there for Ryan, particularly when he was having issues.

"He's no angel," Barney said about her ex. "He knows what kind of father he was. He might have seen his son occasionally, but he wasn't a disciplinary parent. He didn't teach him right from wrong. (Ryan's) dad was kind of a Disneyland dad.

3rd Season Finale and Reunion Show -

Well, it's finally here – the season finale of "The Real Housewives of Orange County," season 3.

Episode 11 airs at 10 p.m. Jan. 22 on Bravo. It's been a popular series for the cable network, with about 1.4 million tuning in to watch each week, a Bravo spokeswoman said. While we haven't seen the final episode, we can give you some highlights based on last week's trailer and tidbits issued by the Bravo press office.

Episode 10 ended in the middle of an uncomfortable meeting – the first in months – between Lauri Waring and her estranged son Josh. A psychotherapist, Stacey, is also in attendance. Episode 11 continues with that meeting.

Basically, Lauri is trying to get Josh to admit his transgressions and restore him to the right track so he can be a clean and sober participant in Lauri and George Peterson's wedding.

Frustrated, Lauri says, "I can't get him to admit wrongdoing." Josh laughs curtly and says, "I'm sorry, I just don't think this is really going anywhere." Hmm, that doesn't really sound like progress to me.

Flash over to yet another outdoor, cocktail-in-hand party among the housewives. Vicki Gunvalson says to her husband, "Don, what do you are going to do without me for two weeks?"

Neighbor Jeana Keough has her arm around Don, and he's grinning. "I'll take him out to dinner so he's not lonely!" Jeana says suggestively. Uh oh, when the cat's away …

Meanwhile, Lauri and George are getting ready for their fairy-tale, sky-is-the-limit wedding. Workers are preparing the backyard of George's house, arranging tables, chairs and white roses. We see Lauri hours before the wedding, her hair in curls. "God, I hope these guys can get this done in two hours," she frets.

Inside, she says to a smiling George, "Are you going to dip me? 'Cause don't drop me this time." George replies, "I'll surprise you."

Guests arrive at the wedding, and one guest is reportedly Jo De La Rosa, the young "housewife" from seasons 1 and 2. With whom does she attend the wedding? That's still a mystery. Probably not Slade Smiley, since, fans might recall, he previously got into a bit of a sticky situation with Lauri and Jo.

Next week, at 9 p.m. Jan. 29, Bravo will air a special, "reunion" episode with this season's housewives. The title: "The Real Housewives Confess: Watch What Happens Special."

Judging by previous such episodes, it will probably be in a closed studio, in a question-and-answer format. Bravo programming executive Andy Cohen will be the host, and he will ask questions raised by the series and by viewers of www.BravoTV.com. The housewives are expected to provide descriptions of "behind-the-scenes" moments, and Jo is expected to make another "surprise" visit.

Here are some sample queries that will apparently be answered, according to Bravo: How is married life treating Lauri and George? What is Jo up to these days and why wasn't she in the third season? How did the new "housewives" Tamra Barney and Quinn Fry fit in with the girls? How are the Knickerbocker ladies healing since the death of Tammy's ex-husband and Lindsey and Megan's father, Lou Knickerbocker?

Oh, and in case you're interested, Bravo will give viewers a taste of the upcoming series "The Real Housewives of New York City" at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 22. Viewers will meet the new housewives and learn about their glamorous, fast-paced lives in the Big Apple. That series begins at 11 p.m. March 4 and will continue at 10 p.m. Tuesdays.

Let's see -

Tamra constantly puts down Ryan's father as he wasn't 'ready' to be a father. But she is a great mother jumping on her adult son and leaving wet boob marks on him or going dancing at the same club with her son or jumping on him when he comes home or leaving thong undies in his empty room for him to find. hmmm..... would love to hear this ex's story.

Vicki - who puts down Michael and Briann's father all the time since he was so unmotivated to earn a decent living. hmmm.. crazy psycho yelling mother or mellow dad. This interview would be good as well.

Tammy - We know's Lou's cheating ways and I have to say Tammy is the most mature of all. She doesn't seem to directly put him down except the lying about taking care of her girls part. Would love to hear from Duff about their story.

Quinn - Has made a few comments here and there. We just don't 'get' her yet so interviewing her TWO ex husbands would probably enlighten us a bit as well as the guy she recently lived with for three years.

Slade - Two kids with two different women. I am sure interviews with them would tell us that we are exactly correct on Mr. Smiley's character as he is what he is. The point Mr. Smiley does earn is that we never heard him say one bad word against his ex's so KUDOS to him. Maybe he can teach the rest a thing or two. That's right he is no longer on the show, oh well...

Lauri - The worst one of all. Constantly putting down her ex's and accusing them of horrendous behavior. Would love, love to interview those two.

George - His ex Gina from all accounts seems like George has put her through hell. Would love to hear the real truth from her as well.

Don't these 'ladies' understand that psychotherapy 101 says if you put down the ex in front of your children (or on national tv kept forever) you are ALSO putting down your own children in their mind? Children believe they are a part of each parent so put down the other one and you are putting them down. I know, hard concept but seriously someone needs to school these women on how to behave properly with ex's for their children's sake.

Tammy Knickerbocker used to live in one of the biggest house in the gated community, but that was before she and her late husband, Lou, lost their fortune from their lucrative business. Lou's recent death has left Tammy trying to keep it together for her family. She has reunited all her children into her home and is concentrating on moving forward, helping her daughters adjust to life without their father. She is also embarking on a new marketing business venture called Veriya with her two daughters, Megan and Lindsey.

Megan has moved back in with Tammy and is currently going to school to become a nurse, while also working with her mother and sister launching their marketing company. She considers herself an O.C. rebel and even moved to the Inland Empire for a while, but is now back in town and trying to forge a place for herself in the O.C.

This year Lindsey is working hard, not only with her mother and sister as the spokesmodel for Veriya, but also at an energy drink company and a clothing company. On top of this, she is attending school part time. Lindsey is adjusting to her family's new lifestyle, adapting to not being as wealthy as they once were and missing her old activities, including her horses and equestrian competitions.

With all the tough times this family has seen, Tammy continues to be the rock for her children while still finding ways to reinvent herself.

(For all of you who emailed us she was born in 1955 in Fort Knox Tennessee. She is 52 years old with two children from two previous marriages.)

A lot of you have been asking about what it is I do for a living and this episode gave you a little taste of it. My work keeps me very busy -- I’ve been working at a telecommunications company for nine years now as their Internet Marketing Manager and I also run an Orange County Event Web site that gives local people the weekly updates on where to go, what’s happening, and who’s playing where and when. We also have weekly restaurant reviews, concert updates, and list most charity functions. Those two jobs keep me VERY busy, both at the office and also out and about on the OC social scene. So if you want to know the haute spots in the OC to go, I’ll know them!

Religion and relationships -- wow -- where do I start? I guess I’ll start by saying that what a person feels strongly about (whatever that is) is woven into their very core. It’s part of who they are, why they act the way they do, and what makes them unique. If you are in a relationship and you believe strongly in something and the other person doesn’t, or worse believes the total opposite, things can get messy. If it’s something uncomplicated like …who likes butter and who likes margarine, obviously the butter wins -- kidding. But when it’s something that is important to the other person, you will need to talk openly about it and share why they feel the way they do with each other. If we are still at opposites after communicating our heartfelt beliefs … then for me that’s a deal breaker.

Religion didn't play a role in my first marriage because I was married to my high school sweetheart. He was the only boy that I had ever dated. We dated for five years and were married right after high school. He went to the same church. Religion was never an issue.

If Billy had his way, though, these topics would come up often. I have not studied different religions, but Billy has, and can speak volumes on each different one. I am comforted in what I believe in and I don’t ever wish to change that. I believe in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. I have since I can remember.

Billy and I had a great time on-board the yacht at Tamra’s 40th birthday party. Newport Beach is such a beautiful place and it was a warm southern California night. Billy got a chance to meet the other housewives and it was a fun party atmosphere, so he had some time to get acquainted with them. We danced, drank, ate sushi, and danced some more … a fun time was had by all. Tamra is so very beautiful and the Rolex watch that Simon got her was stunning! I still can’t believe she was yakking about being -- “so old” -- pleeeassseee! She is gorgeous and doesn’t need to worry about looking old, period.

It wasn’t awkward when Lauri’s wedding came up. I wasn’t expecting an invitation. The housewives were all excited about it and rightly so -- a wedding to the one you love is something to get very excited about. I have gotten to know Lauri better over these past few months since filming and she is a sweet and beautiful person. George is a very lucky man and I wish them a lifetime full of happiness!

Las Vegas was ... interesting. Don’t get me wrong -- the resort was spectacular! We stayed in a huge villa/suite complete with two master bedrooms, a pool table, bar, backyard pool, and its own personal butler! But the time that Billy and I spent together didn’t go as I had thought it might. We are just not in agreement on our beliefs and that is HUGE for me. I’ve already compromised too much to continue on and I’ve been conflicted about it. I’m afraid that I need to fish or cut bait (My father would say, "Sh** or get off the pot") and that’s going to be hard.

The Valley Ranch Resort reminded me of the Montage in Laguna Beach, or Las Ventanas in Cabo -- over the top! It was a great getaway and I think we needed that time together to clear the air on “US”. But before we had “the talk” I just wanted to enjoy the resort and relax, plus have some fun while in Vegas. Our room was awesome!

My “Releasing the Beast” comment will go down as a stupid thing I never should have said with a camera on me! But I guess it’s true. I need to be in a loving, safe, committed, trusting, and MARRIED relationship to “let go.” I think most women need this. I know it’s a generalization here and, forgive me to those sensitive men out there, but most men can have intimate relations with women and walk away or even have multiple partners and it’s a non-issue. Women are not made that way as a whole. We need to feel loved. We need that in order to feel safe, and then we can let go and maybe be a little wild. But being loved and feeling cherished is the key. I want that. I need that. I’m not going to settle or compromise anymore!

As for Jared, he and I headed to Mr. Chow’s in Beverly Hills for dinner recently. He thinks I need to get out of the OC and have some fun for a minute. It was not a “date” -- remember, he is my friend nothing more. But, I may be back out in the dating world soon and I’m NOT looking forward to it.

First and foremost, I would like to comment on the interview you had with the five beautiful “bitches” of The Real Housewives. I am awestricken that you actually have the gall to complain about Vicki’s censorship over Kim, when you turn around and do exactly what Vicki anticipated. You blast the beautiful women of The Real Housewives that—surprise, surprise—have hearts under their silicone breasts that might actually be hurt by seeing that not only are they bitches, but they are fat, ugly, ditzy and fake. You’re a real winner. I have you to thank for my mom’s extremely high self-confidence.

You’re a great writer, however, your nasty little spirit infects your work—if you consider what you have done to these hard-working women’s reputations and self-image “work.” Kudos on the reference to Gatsby. I recently read The Great Gatsby in my AP composition and language class, and I must say, darling, you’re right up there with Fitzgerald! Oh, how nicely classic literature can compare to the lives of five women who happen to make their own money; God forbid they actually spend it! You might have missed that in Gatsby. Daisy and her brute husband had their money wired through their umbilical cords, in sharp contrast to the working women of Coto de Caza. However, I must consider the fact that your little article is filled with fallacies and vulgar that rots your words, due mainly to the fucks, bitches and assholes you pepper throughout the story.

After reading your “honest” article, I have been dying to meet you. You seem like the type of person that makes me the vivacious little firecracker, a.k.a. “Monster,” I am. HOLLYWOOD -- Like his neighbors in Coto de Caza, Slade Smiley is used to making things happen. He co-founded a title insurance company, bought a home in the planned, gated community, invited his girlfriend, Jo De La Rosa, a student and loan officer, to move in and proposed they sign up for Bravo's docu-soap "The Real Housewives of Orange County" because he figured it would be good for business.

When the show took off and the calls starting coming in, he wasn't one to sit back and let network executives decide what to do with their fame. "All of us made it happen. I won't let my success be handled by someone else," said Smiley, one of the more outspoken cast members who have created a modest but intense cadre of fans fascinated by their successful -- and sometimes arrogant, shallow and self-absorbed -- personas on the reality show, which recently concluded its second season.

Smiley has produced De La Rosa's first record, as seen on the show, but behind the scenes he also has joined her on TV talk shows, red carpets and promotional events not allowed by Bravo.

He said publicists called to "reprimand" him. And he spoke to the Los Angeles Times without a Bravo representative -- really not allowed.

"They hate the fact we've figured how to take exposure from the show and turn it into something," said Smiley, who argues that the appearances that he and De La Rosa make are not for press or promotion. "We're about making personal relationships in the industry. It comes across when we meet people," he said. "We're not hungry for it. We're not pushing too hard."

A spokesman for the network said, "Bravo doesn't discuss the terms of its talent contracts, which are standard for the industry," and declined to comment on the activities of Smiley and his cast mates. "The talent contracts are all designed to protect the confidentiality of the plot development," the spokesman added.

Typically, the stars of low-cost reality shows agree to network contracts and small paychecks hoping to get a foot in the door of the entertainment industry. And the promise looms large. The young cast of MTV's first season of "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County" moved from high school to Hollywood to live the life and pursue careers in entertainment. Elisabeth Hasselbeck, eliminated from "Survivor: The Australian Outback," went on to co-host "The View." "American Idol" loser Jennifer Hudson won a career and Oscar gold in the business through the exposure.

While there's always a loose cannon or two, most reality cast members appear one season only and comply with the networks' often strict regulations.

But when it comes to successful Type-A suburbanites with their own ideas about running things, it's a different story. "Nobody at Coto de Caza needs anything from Bravo TV," Smiley said. "The other shows are competitive in their nature. People trying to make something of their lives. We're already there."

Created and produced by a resident of Coto de Caza, Scott Dunlop, "Housewives" has followed the melodramas of the enclave's families, capturing some jaw-dropping moments of materialistic excess (a house for every child in one family), alcohol-fueled parties with inane conversation ("Do you speak Canadian?") and increasing strangeness -- rabbit shooting, daughters turned into sexy spokesmodels for an energy drink, a catfight, pit bulls and naked jealousy over men, cars and bling. And that's just what shows up on-screen.

"Housewives" draws about a million viewers per episode, respectable enough for pay cable but a tiny fraction of what "American Idol" draws. Still, the "housewives," their children and husbands, ex-husbands and their ex-wives are recognized in the grocery stores, restaurants and hospital emergency rooms, not to mention a number of foreign countries that also air the show.

Like Smiley, real estate agent-"housewife" Jeana Keough said she hoped the exposure would help her business, though she also wanted to promote an acting career for her daughter, Kara, who had appeared in some movies as a child. And like Smiley, she's taken advantage of opportunities as they appear. She said she and three other "housewives" set up an online shopping center, TheRealOCBrand.com, to fulfill requests for the clothes and jewelry they wear and the products they use. "We asked Bravo to partner, and they weren't interested," she said.

"They threatened to sue if we didn't remove all pictures of two or more of us together from the Web site. They didn't want us to mention Bravo in any of our ads or to link with us."

Smiley said the show's participants are paid and that, contractually, two or more cast members cannot appear in unsanctioned media, nor are they allowed to use Bravo's name or logo. And there's the issue of public appearances and interviews. Smiley, De La Rosa and Keough were the only participants willing to be interviewed without permission.

"I'm not going to bite the hand that feeds me," said Vicki Gunvalson, a "housewife" who owns an insurance business. "We've been asked to abide by the rules. I want to do everything the correct way." De La Rosa, who has moved to Los Angeles, said Bravo had been "very supportive" of her efforts to build a singing career. Other participants did not return phone calls. Some spoke on condition of anonymity.

"I know we drive them crazy, because we keep trying new things to grow our business from our newfound celebrity," Keough said.

Keough and Gunvalson also started a travel business, CotoTravel.com. And in response to thousands of e-mails from women, Gunvalson is writing a book about starting an insurance company. Keough is auditioning to be a spokeswoman for a weight loss company. Lauri Waring, as shown in the series, is starting a jewelry business.

New boyfriends and ex-husbands also have seized opportunities. Businessman Lou Knickerbocker, ex-husband of Tammy Knickerbocker, Season 2's new "housewife," hired young women on the show as traveling spokesmodels for his new OC Energy drinks. His Web site displays their photos and labels them as having appeared on the show. Tammy's ex-boyfriend, Duff, works for Gunvalson selling insurance.

Smiley argues that participants deserve to see a better return on their exposure than what Bravo provides. Keough and Smiley said what Bravo pays participants doesn't come close to compensating for the time required to make the show. It costs money to start up their new businesses, and some said they even have lost money. Smiley said his firm lost a client who thought he was too arrogant on the show. One participant estimated losing close to $100,000 as a result of lost work time after a year, Keough said. Plus, she said, "They wanted endless hours of blogs for their Web site, which we are not paid to do."

Smiley and Keough's sense of their value to the show, and their plans for maximizing the show's value to them, no doubt have been colored by this not being their first taste of Hollywood. Keough was an actress and Playboy Playmate of the Month; Smiley was a professional cyclist and model.

Reality T.V. Star Becomes Melanoma Patient

TV star Kimberly Bryant's wake-up call came when her doctor found and removed a malignant mole.
Orange County, you faced a serious health threat. What happened?

My doctor found a malignant mole -- a shallow melanoma in early stages -- on my thigh, a few inches above my knee. I've faced skin cancer before, but I never intended to share this "reality" on the show. Now, I'm glad I did. Since the show has aired, several people have told me they've gotten their skin checked because of me -- and it thrills me to hear it.

When were you first diagnosed with skin cancer?

At age 27 -- 17 years ago. I went in for acne treatments and my doctor gasped. He removed 22 moles from my body. He tested them all, and one came back malignant.

Were you a sun worshipper when you were young?

I got a tremendous amount of sun exposure as a child. All the damage was done before I was 25.

You write on your Bravo blog that you had an eye sewn shut for two months after half of your lower eyelid was removed due to skin cancer. Tell us about this experience.

I had a tiny tumor near my tear duct. It was not malignant, but I still tell everyone: Wear sunglasses! Make sure your children wear sunglasses! Protect your eyes!

How much has changed in the last two decades, in terms of prevention and treatment of skin cancers?

Not enough. It will take someone like Brad Pitt getting melanoma to get the kind of funding needed to get the research done that this cancer needs.

Any advice for other mothers trying to keep their families safe from UV rays?

When my kids were little, it wasn't hard keeping them covered up. Now they want to be at the beach with their friends -- and not look dorky in long sleeves. But there are companies that make cute clothes that have sunscreen built into the fabrics. Also, be creative. Don't tell your teenager she can't go to the beach. Instead, plan an indoor activity for her and her friends -- like going to a cool sushi bar or a museum -- then take them to the beach after 4 p.m. Watch the sunset together.

Since facing cancer, do you view your life or relationships differently?

Completely. Yes, plan for the future. But enjoy the moment. Share your feelings for someone right now. Take more risks. Have a sense of adventure.

How do you feel about aging?

I like it. I am more confident in my 40s than I was in my 20s. I've got a great husband, great kids; I'm more direct. And physically? Well, I do look at my skin and wish I didn't get so much sun.

The San Clemente resident is the newest cast member of "The Real Housewives of Orange County," which airs Tuesdays on Bravo. Fry will make her first appearance in the Dec. 11 episode.

She says she initially thought it would be fun to be featured on the popular reality TV series, but now, she's not so sure.

"It is a really scary thing," said Fry, 52. "I'm being real cautious. I know what can lie on the editing floor. I've already seen a few little pieces, and know there's a lot of editing going on."

Fry is no stranger to media. She's an Internet marketing manager and managing editor of an Orange County-based entertainment Web site. She also appeared as an on-air personality on Cox Communications' cable program, "OC Lifestyle."

When she was younger, she modeled in Northern California for newspaper ads, television and fashion shows.

In episode 6 of "Real Housewives," she is portrayed as something of a "cougar" – an older woman who dates younger men. She is simultaneously dating a 40-year-old named Billy and a 26-year-old named Jared.

"I generally date younger men," she says on the episode. "I haven't been called a cougar because I don't think they think I'm a cougar … they think I'm closer to their age."

"I don't think I'm a cougar, no," she said during a recent interview with the Register. "I think of a cougar as an older woman, going after, prowling for younger men. Some people that approach me, I don't even know what age they are. I'm not an aggressor at all."

Pamela Quinn Fry was born in 1955 in Fort Knox, Ky., where her father was stationed in the military. She moved to Orange County when she was a baby. Her mother was homecoming queen at Garden Grove High School and her father attended Santa Ana High School.

Fry moved to Arcata in Northern California when she was a teenager. She met her first husband there when she was 15 and married him after five years of dating. They had a daughter, Shannon, who now lives in Eureka. The couple divorced, and Fry moved back to Orange County.

She met another man here, a West Point graduate, and married him. They had a son, Colin, and then divorced. She has been a divorcée for about 14 years, according to Bravo.

"Sometimes people give up too soon on a marriage," she said. "What I learned from that is, I should have stuck it out. I just gave up too soon. That relationship shouldn't have ended."

She said she's still "extremely great friends" with Colin's father and the two have intertwined families and celebrate Christmas together.

Back in April, Fry saw a large ad in the newspaper for "Real Housewives" auditions and decided to try out.

"I saw the show twice last season. I was a little angry at how they portrayed Orange County women. I have such great friends here. They're strong, wonderful, generous, caring women. They happen to be pretty. But they're beautiful on the inside."

So she allowed the cameras to follow her and document her life. They shot dozens of hours of her during the summer – four to five months ago and 20 pounds ago, she said.

"I don't have that much to hide. I don't think I'm that much different than women out there dating right now. …I'm a normal woman that is just looking for somebody to love me, really."

In the Dec. 11 episode, the other housewives meet her at a Mission Viejo restaurant. They immediately launch into personal questions, such as her age and who her plastic surgeon is.

"I was nervous. I hadn't met them. … I wasn't ready for their cattiness. Women that I know wouldn't right off the bat say, 'How old are you?' I wasn't pleased with that night, the whole evening. It didn't go as expected."

Fry has also been a little surprised by all the negativity about the show on Internet message boards and blogs.

"Orange County has such strong negative opinions about the show," she said. "I read the blogs and the message boards – there's such strong negative opinions out there. They put you in a mold, in a category so fast it makes your head spin."

Fry says she and her family have strong connections to Orange County. She wants to portray a different side of her home county and how much it has to offer.

"I really would never do anything on purpose to hurt the opinions of people in Orange County, or have people draw any negative conclusions. I never want to portray this town in a negative way."

NEWPORT BEACH – For more than half her life, Megan Knickerbocker refused to be photographed.

“I always felt like I was the ugly, fat one,” said the 20-year-old Coto De Caza resident. “My sister was tiny, cute and Britney Spears-like-looking and all my friends looked the same way… I was a big girl with no breasts and a bump on my nose.”

Tonight on Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Orange County” – an hourlong documentary-soap drama that chronicles the lives of five Coto De Caza women and their families – Knickerbocker undergoes cosmetic nose surgery. A year before she had a breast augmentation.

Orange County plastic surgeons are seeing a steady rise in high school and college-age women having plastic surgery as a way to better fit in.

“The average person portrayed in the media is fit, well- proportioned and well-endowed,” said Newport Beach Dr. Michael Elam, who performs the hourlong nose surgery on tonight’s episode. “From the Lindsay Lohans to the Olsen twins, celebrity status is gained at puberty rather than as young adults. Pressure for the youth to conform to these images (is) greater than ever before.”

Elam is seeing a dramatic  drop in his patient’s ages. Last year he did 13 “graduation gift” surgeries, with breast augmentation, nose surgery and liposuction the most popular procedures. He’s seen a 25 percent increase in patients under 20 since 2005.

Elam says he won’t do surgery on those who aren’t realistic about desired results.

“If a girl comes in that has a fairly nice figure and breast size, I’ll turn her away,” he said.

“We’re not taking a girl and trying to make her the belle of the ball. We’re taking a girl who feels uncomfortable and giving her an ability to be part of a group.”

Knickerbocker – daughter of Tammy Knickerbocker, 43, and the show’s newest housewife – grew up wealthy. Her parents owned a business that launched on the Home Shopping Network in the 1980s selling celebrity-endorsed products. They lived in one of Coto’s largest homes. But luck changed, and the Knickerbockers divorced. Tammy, Megan and sister Lindsey, now 18, moved from their 9,000-square-foot home to a much smaller house they shared with friends.

“I lost 90 percent of my friends because I wasn’t good enough for them to hang out with me anymore,” Megan Knickerbocker said.

Just out of elementary school, she begged her father for plastic surgery.

“I saw magazines and pictures of pretty girls,” she said. “I used to sit in the corner and was never the life of the party because I didn’t feel pretty. My dad said I could have surgery on my 18th birthday if I lost 40 pounds. I worked at it and lost almost all the weight. The second he said yes, I was in the doctor’s office.”

Her father says he should have approved it sooner.

“She walks with a good, self-confident attitude,” said Louis Knickerbocker, who at first didn’t think she needed the surgery. “Now instead of slouching she stands up straight. She’s grown a lot.”

Now Knickerbocker agrees to be photographed again. When her mom signed on for the show’s second season, Knickerbocker knew she wouldn’t have to feel like the ugly older sister.

On the show’s third episode, Knickerbocker reveals her surgery to the world.

“At first I was terrified and I had second thoughts of doing it on TV,” she said. “I wondered what people would say and if they thought I was conceited… It turned out better than I could even imagine. I feel feminine and attractive.”

Origins
The roots of Charisma Brands date to 1985, when husband-and-wife entrepreneurs Louis and Tammy Knickerbocker founded a California-based firm called International Beauty Supply. The couple, who had earlier found success with Mexican restaurant chain Casa Lupita, soon began to market a home nail salon kit via cable televisions's Home Shopping Network.

After Louis Knickerbocker met plastic surgeon Michael Elam at a party, the company formed an offshoot called LaVie Cosmetics to make a face cream that the two men developed. Recruiting comedian and Elam patient Phyllis Diller as on-air spokesperson, the firm soon began to sell Creme de LaVie on the Home Shopping Network, taking orders for $997,000 worth in a single August 1988 weekend.

In 1989, another offshoot company, MLF Enterprises, was created. It would offer replicas of jewelry pieces owned by Charlie's Angels star Farrah Fawcett, who would also hawk the line on the Home Shopping Network. Not long afterward an additional division, Knickerbocker Creations, was launched as well. By 1990, the company was reportedly handling orders worth $18 million from the Home Shopping Network, which was nearly its exclusive source of revenue.

In 1990, he later alleged, Louis Knickerbocker was approached by Home Shopping Network chairman Roy Speer with a proposal that he secretly receive a 50 percent stake in Knickerbocker's businesses in exchange for arranging a $10 million line of credit. After checking with his lawyer about the propriety of such an offer, Knickerbocker declined it, which resulted in Speer banning the company's products from his network and then trying to woo away its celebrity spokespersons.

The firm soon reached a deal with rival shopping channel QVC, but Speer allegedly continued to keep track of its inner workings by paying Knickerbocker's executive vice-president to spy for him. The allegations surfaced several years later when government agencies began a probe of the Home Shopping Network's finances, which precipitated Speer's resignation as that firm's chairman and the sale of his controlling interest. Meanwhile, 1990 had also seen Knickerbocker drop Crème de LaVie face cream after co-inventor Michael Elam's medical license was revoked for malpractice and insurance fraud.

Marie Osmond Dolls Debut in 1991
In 1991, the company moved into a new product area with the introduction of Marie Osmond Fine Porcelain Collector Dolls. Doll aficionado Osmond helped design the new line, which would be sold via QVC and in stores like Toys "R" Us and JC Penney. Prices started at $25 and went as high as $6,000 for a limited-production special edition, with most selling for around $200. The first dolls debuted on QVC in November of 1991, with the company reporting sales of $1.4 million in four hours of air time. Osmond donated a portion of her proceeds to the Children's Miracle Network, a charity she helped establish in 1983.

The success of the Osmond dolls led to a similar deal the following year with former Mouseketeer and 1960s beach movie star Annette Funicello, who would sell a line of collectible bears under her name. Funicello suffered from multiple sclerosis, and part of the proceeds would fund a charity she had formed to help fight neurological diseases. Despite initial success with dolls and bears, by 1994 the company's annual sales had fallen to $7.8 million, with net earnings of $725,000.

In January 1995, Louis Knickerbocker's various businesses were merged into a single entity, the Rancho Santa Margarita, California-based L.L. Knickerbocker Company. That same month, the firm raised $4.9 million in an initial public offering (IPO) of stock on the NASDAQ Small Cap exchange. Of the 2.4 million shares extant, Louis Knickerbocker held 64 percent. The company used the funds to develop new products and to create television infomercials and a direct marketing sales campaign. At this time, the Marie Osmond doll line was the firm's biggest seller, accounting for approximately 40 percent of sales, with most of the remainder coming from Annette Funicello Collectible Bears and the ECT Ionizer, a product which purportedly removed harmful particles from indoor environments.

Following the IPO, L.L. Knickerbocker began signing a number of new licensing deals. Plans were soon announced to offer memorabilia and figurines based on the 1950s television program The Honeymooners, hair removal and skin care products, a recovery service for lost or stolen articles called Tracker, and a line of collectible angel dolls promoted by flamboyant fitness guru Richard Simmons. The firm also took a dip in the waters of the Internet, creating a joint venture with MultiMedia Magic Productions to develop "Electronic Storefronts" for online sales of a variety of products.

All of this activity, as well as new business from mail-order sales via advertisements in Doll Reader magazine, helped boost the company's stock value tenfold by mid-summer 1995, and in July the NASDAQ exchange moved it to the higher-profile National Market System. Over the summer, more new products were announced, including a series of videos called "Secrets of Modeling A-Z," which would be sold via infomercials.

With more attention directed toward the firm's once thinly traded stock, allegations began to surface that stockbroker Rafi Khan was somehow manipulating its price, and with reports of a possible Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) investigation, it began falling. By late August, it had dropped to less than half of its recent peak, and then continued to slide.

In the fall of 1995, L.L. Knickerbocker began marketing its modeling videos via infomercials and selling the Tracker recovery service on QVC with help from actress Angie Dickinson, formerly the star of television's Police Woman series. The company also announced it would market a digital telephone with which users could make free long distance calls via the World Wide Web as well as a series of posters of company board member Farrah Fawcett, who had recently posed nude for Playboy magazine at the age of 48. Late in the year, L.L. Knickerbocker sold $3 million worth of new Christmas-themed Marie Osmond dolls in a single weekend on QVC, as the company announced plans to begin selling them through retail outlets like FAO Schwarz. QVC sales accounted for some 98 percent of revenues for the firm at this time.

In December 1995, a $10 million joint venture was formed with Paxson Communications to market products via informercials and through Paxson's new Shop at Home cable TV network. The first efforts included selling exercise devices endorsed by Olympian Florence Griffith Joyner and marketing Mr. Khalsa Numerology to compete with the successful Psychic Friends Network. For 1995, the firm reported sales of $13.1 million and earnings of $1.3 million.

Acquisitions and New Ventures in 1996
In March 1996, L.L. Knickerbocker entered a completely new business area by purchasing a 40 percent stake in Pure Energy Corp., a California firm that sought to produce an alternative motor fuel from industrial waste products. Pure Energy, which would be headed by Louis Knickerbocker, soon committed to invest $5.3 million in a wood-sludge conversion plant in Watertown, New York, which would also be funded by state and federal agencies and a chemical firm.

In the spring, the company expanded its offerings to jewelry through the acquisition of three companies: The Krasner Group, Inc. of Rhode Island, which sold jewelry designed by the likes of Kenneth Jay Lane and Nolan Miller on QVC, and Grant King International Co. Ltd. and S.L.S. Trading Co. Ltd., both of Thailand. The three new additions had total annual revenues of approximately $20 million.

In the summer of 1996, the firm bought a 25 percent stake in Insta-Heat Inc. and sister firm Self-Heating Container Corp. (later known as Ontro, Inc.), which had developed cans that could be heated by pressing a button on the bottom. Fall saw the addition of another Thai jewelry company, Harlyn International Co., and the signing of an agreement with country music superstar Barbara Mandrell to tout a line of jewelry on QVC.L.L. Knickerbocker also bought controlling interest in New England-based doll maker Georgetown Collection, Inc. and subsidiary Magic Attic Press for $1.68 million. The respective firms produced collectible porcelain dolls and 18-inch vinyl dolls for children that were modeled after the successful American Girls line and sold with related storybooks and accessories.

In the summer of 1997, the company formed a joint venture with Arkenol Holdings to market alternative fuels in Asia, securing a new $20 million line of credit. Several of the company's recent ventures were now beginning to run into problems, with the Tracker service's telemarketers accused by the Federal Trade Commission of using scare tactics to sell unnecessary credit card insurance and Classy Lady hair removal devices abandoned when they did not receive Food and Drug Administration approval. The firm reported a loss of $4.4 million on sales of $68.3 million for the year.

The year 1998 saw L.L. Knickerbocker working to cut costs by consolidating its Far East offices into a single site in ShenZhen, China, and farming out Magic Attic Press book production and marketing to Millbrook Press. The company also secured $7 million in new financing from private investors, built a new silver manufacturing facility in Thailand, and took a6.7 percent stake in Phoenix Environmental Ltd. in exchange for 2 percent of its Pure Energy holdings. The company continued to sign new licensing agreements as well, with recent additions including Disney, Universal Studios, and Kodak.

In July 1998, the SEC officially charged Rafi Khan and a partner of manipulating L.L. Knickerbocker stock five years earlier, though the company itself was not implicated. Khan agreed to cooperate with prosecutors and received a sentence of three years' probation and a five-year ban from the securities industry.

With losses continuing to mount, the company's stock price began falling steadily, ameliorated only slightly by announcements of new Internet sales efforts through Yahoo! and America Online. To help boost share value, the firm split off its holdings in the energy and self-heating container businesses by forming a new company called Knickerbocker Investments, Inc., which would be run by an independent advisory board. A short time later, another new unit, Knickerbocker WorldWide Co. was created to sell jewelry online. The company also relocated its Georgetown Collection business from Maine to California, consolidated related operations in Portland, Maine, and closed manufacturing facilities in Maine, New York, and Pennsylvania. One-quarter of the firm's 290 U.S. employees were laid off as a result of the downsizing, leaving a total of 450 worldwide. For 1998, L.L. Knickerbocker's revenues declined to $60 million and a whopping $28 million loss was reported.

Bankruptcy in 1999
With its Asian joint venture with Arkenol also recently declared a total loss, and having spent over $1 million on legal fees related to two separate lawsuits, by the summer of 1999 the company found itself in serious trouble. On August 23, as the firm's stock was coincidentally being delisted from the NASDAQ due to its low trading price, three of L.L. Knickerbocker's creditors filed a Chapter 7 petition in U.S. Bankruptcy Court seeking immediate payment of their debts. The firm began seeking a way out of liquidation, and in November it was allowed to convert from a Chapter 7 forced bankruptcy to a Chapter 11 reorganization and began negotiations with creditors. For the year, the company recorded revenues of $42.2 million and a loss of $11.2 million.

During the fall of 1999 and into early 2000, operations were streamlined by selling the unprofitable Georgetown Collection brand and discontinuing the Annette Funicello and Richard Simmons product lines. The firm also began to move away from the money-losing mail order area and toward retail sales, though QVC continued to account for nearly half of its earnings. For 2000, sales declined to $30.3 million, with a net loss of $3.4 million. The company's employee ranks had by now been whittled down to 357.

In July 2001, L.L. Knickerbocker accepted an offer of $6 million from Brian Blosil, the husband of Marie Osmond, to buy substantially all of its assets, which would form the basis of a newly formed company called Marian, LLC. Louis Knickerbocker subsequently filed a plan of liquidation with the bankruptcy court for the minimal remaining assets he held. The firm's founder later reappeared with a company called RG Global Lifestyles, Inc., that marketed dietary supplements and health and beauty aid products in Asia, as well as a device that created drinking water from air.

Yes, this all happened a year ago but it clearly prints the REAL picture of Ms. Lauri Waring/Peterson and George Peterson's integrity and character. Since they continue to perpetuate this Fairytale/Brady Bunch image we thought you should all be privy to their REAL lives as documented in their court cases.

Josh got a job and a company truck, Gina got an aggressive attorney and made headway toward getting her kids back, and this very column became "Exhibit C" in a court case – all part of the ongoing domestic fight involving one of the "Real Housewives." It was a good day.

Some complain that covering this stuff dips into the realm of the tabloids. If it were just the nasty life of some semi-celebrity, I'd agree. But there's an underdog element to this case I find both irresistible and worthwhile of coverage. On one side, you've got the divorced mother of four, Gina Peterson, and the troubled teen, Josh Waring, who was kicked out of the house by his mother. On the other side are Josh's mom – Housewives' diva Lauri Waring –and her newfound sugar daddy-love, who is Gina's millionaire ex-husband, George Peterson. I guess it's that dumb "afflicting-the-comfortable-and-comforting-the-afflicted" thing idealistic journalism professors used to drum into you, post-Watergate.

I started Thursdayat the family-law court in Orange, where Judge Nancy Pollardtried to bring some clarity to the messy custody fight between George and Gina. A few months ago, George got a magistrate to grant an emergency order revoking Gina's partial custody of the four kids they have together. George said it was because Gina had allowed undesirable people to live with her. On Thursday, George also decried what he called Gina's "decision to litigate this case in the media," and submitted as evidence several of my recent columns.

Hmm. Haven't George and Lauri exposed all seven of their collective kids and their problems to a national television audience? Maybe I'm just not hewing to the "Brady Bunch" version Bravo has served up.

Gina says the people living with her included a desperate single mom, the mom's kid, and Josh, who had sought refuge. None are dangerous or bad influences, she argues. George's real motive, she says, is harassment. Since Nov. 9, she says, she's had her kids for four days around both Christmas and New Year's and on two weekends.

Gina gave Pollard declarations written by three of her children in which they say they want to live with her. "I really just want to live with my mommy," 10-year-old Bria scrawled. If I quoted any more, I'd have readers crying all over the county. Fifteen-year-old Slayte's declaration is so full of spite toward George that not even a bottom-dweller like me can bring himself to quote from it. Gina also submitted declarations showing that the people staying with her, including Josh, have moved out.

As Gina's forceful new attorney, Peter Hermes, called George's declarations "a barrage of lies," George sat a few rows back in the spectator area smiling and shaking his head. Lauri sat to his right, stroking the hand he had placed on her knee.

Pollard is brand-newto the case. You get the sense she is very concerned but still doesn't have enough info to take definitive action. She's awaiting reports from a child psychologist and the children's own court-appointed attorney. In the meantime, she made it clear Gina is entitled to the every-other-weekend visits and unlimited phone calls from them. "What I'm concerned about is these little girls being denied access to their mom," Pollard said.

Late in theday, I called Josh. The big news is, a guy I put him in touch with has given him a job servicing vending machines, and he gets use of a truck. He's living with his father in Mission Viejo.

"You can't screw this up," I told him. "A lot of people went out on a limb for you."

"I know, that's what Gina said, too," he replied, sounding excited. "I'm going to have to do a good job."

War has erupted behind the scenes of the hit reality show "The Real Housewives of Orange County." The fighting began after busty housewife Lauri Waring kicked her teen son Josh out of the house and he moved in with Lauri's boyfriend's ex-wife!

Fans of Bravo TV's hour-long docu-series about five wealthy families have learned that Lauri's son Josh, 18, was sent to rehab for behavioral and substance abuse problems. But fans don't know that mother and son have been clashing bitterly since his release.

"She's a different person," says Josh about his mom Lauri.

"I don't know if the show went to her head, or what."

When Josh was sprung from rehab, Lauri - who had moved in with millionaire developer George Peterson - allowed Josh to stay rent-free in her townhouse and use her car, providing he did not have parties.

Lauri says she kicked out Josh after discovering nine people in the home. But Josh insists only six people were there - and insists that there were no drugs or alcohol.

According to Josh, Lauri kicked him out with no clothes and no car. Without transportation, he says he was forced to drop out of college.

Despite Lauri's objections, Josh moved in with Gina - the ex-wife of Lauri's boyfriend George.

Now George has leaped into the fray - reportedly taking legal action to boot both Josh and Gina out of the home they share. George co-owns the home with Gina.

Isn't this the same home George's daughters share with their mother? So George is in essence taking legal action to remove his own children from their home? Again, integrity and character are not virtues in this home.

Ran across this on Wikipedia and it has really swayed me as to the character of Lauri Waring/Peterson.

"Josh doesn't appear in the credits as part of Waring's family and Waring has alluded that she doesn't see him anymore."

Doesn't she understand that her children are hers for life? In the first season we get the impression that she is practicing tough love by not defending her son with his school/drug issues and he spends time in juvie. Season 2 we see her 300% into her relationship with George and occasionally wishing Josh could be there. But it was made clear that she was jumping on the George bandwagon and wasn't going to let go. She traveled extensively with him without any children present. Season three brings us the sweet, kind, (FAKE) Lauri who wants the best for Josh but then talks about how Sophia is her own child who is a good kid. Her feelings were hurt when she kicked Josh out on the streets he moved in with George Peterson's ex-wife Gina. hmmm....... maybe he found someone to emotionally support him since his mother never did, someone who actually spent time concerned for others instead of concerned about the ring on her finger, next trip, car etc..

She has said he is out of control and she only wants the best for him. Any 12 step program will tell you that you only include the addict when they are following their program but you always wish them well, set boundaries etc. No where does it say you pretend your child doesn't exist. The fact that she took Josh out of the credits as part of her family is sickening, IMHO.

Like or dislike the choices your children have made they are still YOUR children. Interesting enough she kisses his a** to get him to attend her wedding but you never see her talking to him about anything else. Please, please attend so I look like we are all together at my wedding. Seriously, this woman has a long way to go before she could ever be considered a good mother.

Nobody is saying Josh is an angel. His myspace page pretty much confirms that. However, he is Lauri's child and her pretend "Brady Bunch" life is just that PRETEND. George's girls told the court they don't want to live with him and she doesn't even claim all her kids. Integrity and character are values these two are seriously lacking.

(Tammy is from season two and her daughter Megan whose dad was Lou Knickerbocker introduced us in Season two to her boyfriend Roman. Roman lives in the 909 and breeds very large but gentle pit bulls. As of season three we learn that Megan and Roman are no longer together and Roman is engaged and soon to be a baby daddy. Megan just finds it super that they all still get along and she and Roman are still friends. (We've all been there - she will wake up one day))

Roman Vaughn, 36, debuted in last week's episode of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" as the boyfriend of Tammy's 20-year-old daughter, Megan. I think I know a breakout star when I see one, as does a certain state appellate justice who reviewed Season 2's first two episodes with me. Roman's shaved head, tatted body and 909 area code made him a tougher, real-life version of the troubled I.E. pantywaist Ryan in "The O.C." Then there's Roman's solid-gold occupation – pit bull breeder.

I didn't sleep too well the night before my visit to Iron Cross Kennels. What to wear? I went with the cargo pants but dumped the backwards ball cap. I didn't want to appear to be trying too hard.

Erika and I set out to Menifee in her new Accord, which is at home on the freeway and the winding, bucolic, meth-shack-lined Bundy Canyon Road, but completely out of its element on the rutted dirt track up the hill to Roman's place. We pull up to the chain-link fence surrounding the five-acre compound and are instantly greeted by, and I say this with all respect, the head bitch – a massive she-pit that comes bounding across the arid landscape, her sagging teat-sack practically leaving its own track in the dirt. Meet Iron Maiden.

Roman assures us it's OK to leave the car, even though every instinct tells me I'd be safer cliff diving. Iron Maiden, modestly accessorized in a motorcycle-chain collar, just sniffs us politely. She weighs 93 pounds. "I like to keep 'em lean," Roman says.

Lean, but not small. As Roman explains, he specializes in monster pits. Whereas the U.K.C. pit standard calls for males to max out at 60 pounds, a 60-pounder would be a runt at Iron Cross. We sit on a picnic table and Roman brings out Disciple. He's a lovely blue-and-white beast, 122 pounds, with a cranial circumference of 27¼ inches.

"Aw, you're such a good, good boy," I coo, my fingers stroking his chin, my testicles retracting up into my thorax. Disciple is Roman's biggest pit but Disciple's brother, Azul, who lives in Colton, weighs 153. Roman brings out another male, Iron Tyson, and he's just as docile, although Roman acknowledges he can be a handful because he bought him out of the Pennysaver and wasn't able to socialize him early.

"See, he's not mean, is he?" Roman says as I pet Tyson. I reply: "No, but then I'm not trying to rip off your stereo."

Like every pit-bull aficionado I've met, Roman says pits are no more aggressive than other dogs. Bad owners are the problem. But your Web site's rap song, I point out, has some pretty violent lyrics describing your dogs. He says the song was "a gift" from a friend, that's all. He says he screens buyers before he sells them one of his dogs, which go for up to $3,000. I ask him for some specific reasons he's refused to sell to people and he stops me short.

"I thought this was about me. You're asking a lot of questions about the dogs."

Roman grew up on the fringes of the desert east of San Diego. Shortly after high school he got into a business that remains his main source of income – he owns a dental lab that makes retainers. (In fact, the pit bull money just pays for the upkeep of the dogs, he says.) Not exactly the stereotype.

Another stereotype-buster: A tour of his compound reveals an immaculate operation. And this wasn't spiffed up because we were coming. Long-term investment is evident. The kennels house puppies and adults that seem healthy and active. They are spacious, clean and well built of concrete and chain link. His out buildings are new construction and brightly painted to resemble miniature barns. He's planted trees to complement those already on the site. In short, while his place isn't as opulent, it's as well-kept as any horse property in Coto.

Which brings us to Megan. The age and income differences are issues. "Being from different sides of the tracks," he calls it. But "for a rich kid, she has a really great work ethic." Megan, in fact, helped Roman put together a 2007 Iron Cross Kennel calendar featuring her, sister Lindsey, fellow "Housewives" teen Kara Keough (Miss March and Miss June) and others posing with dogs and dirt bikes. A couple of models are splattered in fake (I think) blood.

"I'm not a salesman," Roman says, explaining why most of the 5,000 calendars are still in boxes. He's giving them away now, so I take a few, and ask him to autograph one.

(Here is the real 'reality' that took place in their lives over the past year. Not exactly as they try to appear on the show. But court records don't lie. Happy reading!!)

The skirmishing among the "Housewives' " Lauri Waring, her son, Josh, her boyfriend, developer George Peterson, and Peterson's ex-wife, Gina, erupted into full-scale war this week.

First, a short backgrounder. Two of my recent columns related that: Lauri threw Josh out of the house for alleged partying; Josh went to live with Gina, infuriating Lauri; Josh believes Lauri exploited him for purposes of the show; Lauri says Josh lied about not having drugs and alcohol in the home; a couple of my sources have offered Josh jobs and/or money for college; I gave Josh some of my old clothes.

I wrote those columns because Josh called me, and I've always thought the kid was getting used. I'm writing this column because I like to expose bullies. It's one thing to divorce; it's another to subject your ex to continuing mental torture. I've left questions for George with two of his attorneys, but haven't gotten a call back.

Now, the latest. Since my columns about Lauri and Josh, the following have occurred: George has taken legal steps to have Josh booted from the Laguna Niguel home George co-owns with Gina; to have Gina booted while he's trying to sell it (as part of their divorce); and to require Gina and their teenage son, Slayte, preserve all of their computer files, voice mail and email in which the divorce proceedings have been referenced. Sounds like a prelude to further legal action and/or simple intimidation.

Too bad Georgecan't access my computer and voice mail. He'd go crazy. But I will say that I heard from his company's secretary who he took for a girlfriend in between Gina and Lauri. She and Gina are now allies, which is stunning enough. I'm also aware of a lawsuit George filed against her to get back the ring he gave her before he dumped her for Lauri – a six-carat VS1 diamond valued at $200,000. Oh, and Gina's mother – the grandmother of the four children George and Gina have together – has weighed in. She's concerned that those kids "are just as threatened and in jeopardy as Josh" because of the anxiety caused by all the litigation George has brought.

Furthermore, message boards linked to the online version of my columns have been rife with charges and counter charges, some of which appears to come from members of the warring sides using pseudonyms. (There's some hilarious stuff too, like: "Hey, Georgie, Billy Ray Cyruscalled – he wants his haircut back.")

On Lauri's side, I heard from co-Housewife Jeana Keough, who for a fleeting moment made me feel guilty by imploring me to "give (Lauri) a break during this difficult time. … Be thankful you aren't walking in her Jimmy Chooshoes. … Tough love gets tougher when others supply your child with drugs and cars."

She lost me at "Jimmy Choo."

All of this gets to one of the big beefs I have with the T.V. show – the notion it portrays "reality." Read the online comments. Consider the ongoing litigation. Consider that former "Housewives" husband Scott Bryantstill faces a battery charge. You wanted reality. This is reality

Matt Keough's head injury - - -

(While we certainly don't approve of Mr. Keough driving under the influence he seems to have changed since his accident. Those who have known him for a long time say he became a completely different person after his injury.)

In 1992, Keough was nearly killed when he was hit in the head by a line drive while sitting in the dugout during an Anaheim Angels exhibition game at spring training in Arizona.

"We're convinced that this (drinking) is related to the brain injury that he suffered," Keough's attorney, Dan Grigsby, said Friday. "I've known him since high school and he hasn't been the same since.

"We're looking to get him the help he needs. We don't think him being in jail serves any purpose."

Keough pitched for the Athletics from 1977-83, making the 1978 All-Star team. He later played with the Yankees, Cardinals, Cubs and Astros and spent four years with the Hanshin Tigers of Japan.

Episode One: Jeana’s children are monsters! Jeana’s husband is a monster! Jeana (our plump real-estate agent) is no great shakes herself! Jeana’s daughter Kara whines soulfully when her older brother Shane gets a new car and she has to drive his hand-me-down convertible Mercedes. Shane grunts angrily when Kara gets cold hard cash for making the volleyball team. Kara demands a new car. Kara gets a new car. Meanwhile, Shane gets drafted by the Oakland A’s in, like, the 1,000th round, and dad Matt Keough, who used to play for the A’s and still works in the organization, calls home to find out how the draft went. Father and son share a monosyllabic conversation. “I think he’s proud of you,” Jeana says, noncommittally, flatly and without affect, after the phone call. “He thought you were going to do a lot worse.”

Kimberly (our outgoing transplant) makes fun of how everyone in OC has breast implants. But Kimberly likes her own breast implants. We call this “cognitive dissonance.”

Slade wants 24-year-old party girl fiancée Jo to stay home and be a housewife. The camera lingers as she sits on the kitchen counter, staring at the phone, wondering what the fuck she’s going to do with her day.

Vicki (self-made insurance lady) is a bitch, and Lauri (the broke-ass divorcée who suffers under her) is a victim.

Episode Two: Jeana’s son Shane goes off to kill some bunnies for the neighbors, who are tired of replacing their impatiens. He has an arsenal at his disposal, but it’s a lot of Elmer Fudd for nothing. No rabbits were harmed in the making of this series.

Kim goes to buy a new car. “I don’t care about my car,” she says, not at all shallow like her neighbors, “but in this area . . .” But oh, as the car salesman is showing her all the great places to stow your kids in the SUV, he lets fly with “grandchild,” as in, “Here would be a great place to put your grandchild.” Everything stops for the smallest of most perfect beats. Kim does not buy the car.

Slade, who is a freak, does tai chi in his underwear and what appears to be an ice mask to reduce puffiness before showing us his power outfits for his big meeting. He yammers on about needing to appear wealthy so the dude he’s meeting will know he’s capable of . . . what? Being wealthy? Then he climbs into a Hummer, and I laugh and laugh.

But then he meets with the guy, and the guy is so unbelievably rude I thought it was a put-up job. I mean, no one acts that way. Not even Trump times 10 acts that way. The guy is seriously, seriously damaged—and wait till you meet his wife, who puts cubic zirconia on the pink rims of her monster truck! The wife is really pretty awesome.

Lauri notes, about being rich, “I really miss those things. I’m the maid now.” The observant viewer will note her Mizrahi bedding, which I saw on my shopping sojourn through Target just today. It’s cute—giant orange blossoms, splashy and colorful—but again, if Lauri still had her status, she would only shop at Target for the maid’s bedding. Which, of course, I guess she did.

Vicki’s son Michael is an asshole.

Jeana’s son Shane is an asshole. But let me elaborate: Shane and his little brother Colton, who is 13, are in Mexico with their family and go to some dirt-racing track. Colton stalls his dune buggy thingie a bunch of times—because he is 13—before he gets it right. He then beats Shane’s time on the track. Shane’s only possible recourse is to keep making fun of him for stalling. “It’s my first time driving a stick, Shane!” Colton points out sensibly. “Come on, give me a little credit!” Shane grunts angrily and, like an asshole, says, “The first time I drove a stick, it was a Ferrari.”

Lauri’s daughter Ashley is an asshole, but that doesn’t come till episode four, and I’m tired of recapping the episodes, and I will stop.

Except for this: Lauri’s son Josh actually seems like a sweet kid, so he spends most of the season in juvie. It seemed like the teacher he scuffled with was the asshole, but it was off-camera, so we’ll never really know. In any case—go juvenile justice system!—they kept him doped up in juvenile hall to make sure he didn’t have a mental illness for more than a month before they sentenced him to an additional month because he’d been caught with pot in the past. So when he calls home, all lonely and fucked-up and locked away while big sister Ashley is having a party, she hears his voice and instantly hangs up on him with the same guilty manner with which you hang up if a woman answers when you call her boyfriend. That was my little brother calling from juvenile hall, she tells her friend bemusedly. Should I have talked to him, do you suppose?

BARBARIANS AT THE GATES
I drove behind the gates of Coto de Caza last week to meet with the women—all except Jeana, who was out of town seeing her asshole son, who’s playing ball at an Arizona community college. The country club where we coffee’d was hushed, even desolate on a rainy morning—the dark woods you would expect, the sweet selection of teas. Framed in the ceiling-high windows behind the women’s heads, the ridgelines of Coto de Caza were perfectly populated—not too many houses, or too few. It still had the natural beauty you’d expect of John Wayne’s old hunting grounds—his actual hunting grounds, not the bars of Balboa.

The women were nice, and ladylike, and funny and outgoing, and they looked far prettier in person than on the telly. Kim had looked manly on the teevee; in person her features were softer and sexy. Lauri had looked plastic, the light and video catching awkwardly on what seemed to be less-than-organic features; at the table at the Coto country club, she was gorgeous. Vicki still looked like a rabbit, but I probably would have found her less rabbity if I had liked her as a person.

Vicki was a trial. She instructed the others not to answer questions about themselves she’d deemed too personal and tried to micromanage everything, from what photos we would be using to how much Kim should talk.

Outgoing Kim was saying something outgoing—perhaps it was after I’d complimented her for going out with her girlfriends and dancing and flirting with little people and people in wheelchairs (I thought that was nice!) and she’d responded outgoingly, “I am very much an equal opportunist!” So naturally Vicki sniped, “Oh, it’s the Kim Show again.” Kim thanked her genuinely for reining her in, said she was well-aware that she often needed it, and apologized sweetly for monopolizing (she wasn’t) the conversation. She begged to hear what Vicki had to say. “Nothing, really,” Vicki answered peevishly. “I don’t really have a piece to say.”

Not only was she schoolmarming Kim, she was treating me as if I were her 18-year-old daughter—the same daughter she tried to browbeat into quitting her job rather than missing a family weekend at their second home (they have four) at the River. To her husband’s credit, he firmly (for him) explained that quitting your job for a weekend’s play is not a good life lesson for a teenager.

My sources also tell me that, after I left, Vicki demanded of the Bravo publicist, who was in attendance with the series producer as we all had coffee and fruit, that Bravo pay for a $150 flower arrangement Vicki had bought for her coffee table in anticipation of a visit from Access Hollywood. As a person who makes a good, decent middle-class living—a living that, if the Real Housewives were making it, they would probably declare bankruptcy—I would like to say that I frequently buy myself flowers because it makes my house look nice. And I have never, not once, demanded someone else pay for them. But maybe that’s how you get four houses.
